We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Shiv Gupta: Hello, my name is Shiv Gupta. I began my career in digital marketing at the age of 17. I’ve been a marketer for over 13 years and currently specialize in SEO. In addition, I have extensive experience in digital marketing strategy, customer relations, strategic planning, execution, and promotions. I have the extensive industry knowledge and have won first place in numerous categories.
I began my professional career as a small business owner. During that time, my team members and I had tremendous success in terms of marketing the business and developing the field.
If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffett, how would you describe your company, services, or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?
Shiv Gupta: With a formal tone, I would first thank Mr. Buffet for the opportunity to speak with him. I would then proceed to describe my company and the services we provide. I would explain that my company is dedicated to providing high-quality, innovative ideas and services to our customers.
We strive to differentiate ourselves from the competition by providing a unique approach to resolving customer website technical issues, with a focus on providing fast, reliable solutions backed by a commitment to excellence. Our biggest strength is our experienced and talented team of professionals, who are driven to deliver top-notch results and customer satisfaction.
Quiet quitting, The Great Resignation, are an ongoing trend causing many businesses to struggle keeping talent engaged and motivated. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. In your experience, what keeps employees happy? And how are adapting to the current shift we see?
Shiv Gupta: Professional employees are best kept happy by feeling heard, valued, respected, and appreciated. The best way managers can accommodate this is by creating an environment that is open to feedback and encourages self-expression. Providing meaningful development opportunities, acknowledging individual strengths, and creating an environment that emphasizes team connectivity, collaboration, and creativity is also important.
Additionally, offering competitive salaries and benefits packages will encourage employees to stay in their positions. Lastly, creating an environment that strives for work-life balance will ensure happiness and continued engagement.
Organizations are adapting to the current shift by embracing remote working options, virtual collaboration and meeting platforms to keep employees connected, providing flexible working arrangements, and providing comprehensive benefits packages.
Technologies such as automation and artificial intelligence are also being used to make access to data easier and increase efficiency. These adjustments are helping to create an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives, builds trust, and encourages employee engagement.
Here is a two fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?
Shiv Gupta: The book that has had the most influence on me is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. This novel provides a transformational journey for the protagonist in pursuit of his “Personal Legend”. It has taught me the importance of pursuing one’s dreams and to remain true to one’s heart. It also helped me realize that one’s own success lies in his/her own hands, and to not be afraid of embarking into the unknown. This book has allowed me to gain a newfound perspective on life and lifted my spirits when faced with adversity.
The book that I have gifted most often is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. This book lays down principles to improvement and success. I have gifted this book to countless family members and friends hoping these principles remind them to stay focused, think outside the box, maintain enthusiasm, and make a dedication to their pursuits.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?
Shiv Gupta: The real challenge right now is finding ways to sustain present businesses and create new ones in the midst of the current economic uncertainties.
With consumers being more cautious and business operations becoming more complex, it is important for us to find innovative and creative solutions to overcome obstacles and identify opportunities for growth in these trying times. To remain competitive amongst market volatility, it is essential for businesses to find the right balance between utilizing digital technologies and adhering to traditional methods of operation.
In addition, it is crucial for businesses to recognize the global trends and react accordingly; this could include things like adapting to consumer demand and keeping up with fast-paced changes in the industry. By understanding the ever-shifting environment in which businesses operate, entrepreneurs and organizations alike can ultimately achieve their goals.
In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?.
Shiv Gupta: In my experience, the most underestimated part of running a company is often the importance of having the right team in place. It’s critical to have the right mix of employees to ensure the success and longevity of the business. Even if you have the best products and best processes in place, you need competent people to bring it all together.
A good example of this is how different individuals in an organization can play different roles in the business. If a company has the right combination of marketing, sales, finance, and operational expertise, it can be extremely successful. It can also help to have employees with experience in a range of areas, as this can make it easier to adapt to different situations and create solutions.
Having the right team in place can also ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals and has a sense of collective responsibility. This can help motivate and inspire employees, helping everyone to commit to their tasks and reach the company’s goals.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Shiv Gupta: If I had the ability to pick any business superpower, I would choose the ability to foresee trends and have predictive insights. This superpower would help me in my business decisions by allowing me to take advantage of business opportunities before they arise, anticipate potential problems and respond appropriately, and develop successful strategies that could potentially maximize profits.
Additionally, I would use this superpower to promote and market my business more effectively by profiling potential customers and tailoring my services to meet their needs. This would result in increased revenue for the enterprise as well as increased recognition, both of which would open up numerous opportunities for me and my employees in the present and the future.
