We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.

Jackie Meyer: I’m the founder and CEO for three companies-a boutique CPA firm in Dallas TX, a coaching and consulting business for accounting firms, and a tax planning software TaxPlanIQ!

2020 and 2021 threw a lot of curve balls into business on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past couple years, how can businesses thrive in 2022? What lessons have you learned?

Jackie Meyer: Change is inevitable, but the great resignation has killed our industry. We must adapt and grow and be in constant learning mode to thrive.

The pandemic seems to keep on disrupting the economy, what should businesses focus on in 2022? What advice would you share?

Jackie Meyer: It becomes even more important for service industries to niche down into value-based services and find more automated solutions for basic data entry and compliance work.

How has the pandemic changed your industry and how have you adapted?

Jackie Meyer: Increased demand for an already compressed busy season, and decreased team availability have reshaped our daily needs.

What advice do you wish you received when the pandemic started and what do you intend on improving in 2022?

Jackie Meyer: Just how important team morale and culture is and doing everything 200% to make that successful.

Online business surged higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for 2022?

Jackie Meyer: Inflation to cause a recession.

How many hours a day do you spend in front of a screen?

Jackie Meyer: Eight or more.

The majority of executives use stories to persuade and communicate in the workplace. Can you share with our readers examples of how you implement that in your business to communicate effectively with your team?

Jackie Meyer: I describe my mental and physical health challenges after having children and doing too much in my business, so my team understands my intention is for the best work-life harmony for them and me alongside knowing how much I value them.

Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now?

Jackie Meyer: Not enough accountants coming into our profession and government regulations working against us.

In 2022, what are you most interested in learning about? Crypto, NFTs, online marketing, or any other skill sets? Please share your motivations.

Jackie Meyer: I’m doing a doctorate in leadership program.

A record 4.4 million Americans left their jobs in September in 2021, accelerating a trend that has become known as the Great Resignation. 47% of people plan to leave their job during 2022. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. Do you think leaders see the data and think “that’s not me – I’m not that boss they don’t want to work for? What changes do you think need to happen?

Jackie Meyer: Yes completely, or we keep our head in the sand. It is a really difficult problem to overcome.

On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?

Jackie Meyer: Duplicate 5 of me and each of my team members.

What does “success” in 2022 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.

Jackie Meyer: I want to infiltrate the accounting industry with solutions to make their lives better and be a blessing.
