We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Ganesh Verma: I am Ganesh Verma, Founder, and Director MoogleLabs. I have served in the IT industry for two decades and am an expert in various technologies and handling complex projects. My journey in the IT industry has been great so far. I met amazing and inspiring people who are great leaders. I was always fascinated with AI/ML and the possibilities they bring for the betterment of the future. It was my dream to start a company that focuses on delivering the latest solutions, and with these thoughts in mind, I started MoogleLabs.
MoogleLabs is an AI/ML, Blockchain, Data Science, and DevOps company. The latest technologies offer vast scope for innovation, and MoogleLabs work on these new-age technologies and helps businesses adapt to them. Our focus is on building the best and new-age solutions for our clients that streamline their business processes.
2020 and 2021 threw a lot of curve balls into business on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past couple years, how can businesses thrive in 2022? What lessons have you learned?
Ganesh Verma: Definitely! These two years were quite challenging for businesses, but the silver lining was that these years helped us innovate and find new paths. Also, we, as a company, learned to adjust well to change.
Unfortunately, not all businesses were able to survive. We are thankful that we were able to tackle the challenge. These tough years taught us that you should always be ready for unforeseen future events. As business is a fluid concept, we changed our policies to accommodate work from home option for all our employees and decided not to lay off any employees during the testing times.
The pandemic seems to keep on disrupting the economy, what should businesses focus on in 2022? What advice would you share?
Ganesh Verma: The first and foremost thing is that businesses need to keep a cash reserve for the difficult times. Secondly, digital transformation has become the need of the hour. Many businesses have learned to implement AI within their business processes. If you haven’t incorporated AI already, it’s time to do so. Relying on technology takes the majority of weight from our shoulders, and we can focus on important and critical tasks.
How has the pandemic changed your industry and how have you adapted?
Ganesh Verma: Remote work is the biggest change in the IT industry. It has shown people that tasks can be done virtually. Again, it comes down to how equipped your company is with the new technology and software. We realized that our employees like a hybrid work culture, where they can work from the office and from home, depending upon their needs.
Also, I have seen that businesses have realized the importance of digitally transforming their businesses so that when situations like the pandemic arise, they can still continue to work, and the business keeps on running and thriving.
What advice do you wish you received when the pandemic started and what do you intend on improving in 2022?
Ganesh Verma: I think the most effective plan of action during the pandemic was ensuring that people should have the option of working remotely and at the office. There was so much going on worldwide, and new guidelines were becoming a daily routine. From 50% capacity at the workplace, masks mandates, to no public gathering at all, the pandemic made working conditions extremely volatile. If I had more clarity on the various guidelines from the get-go, I believe we could have prepared better for remote work.
But we did make it work, and I have my tenacity to thank for the success during the pandemic. I believe that the work culture needs to become more flexible. That is how we are improving our organization this year and the next.
Online business surged higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for 2022?
Ganesh Verma: In my opinion, these trends will continue in 2022. Many individuals and organizations prefer remote work! In terms of medical consultation, many popular apps are doing amazing work in the area, and we will see more advancements soon.
In 2022, I expect MoogleLabs to grow further and connect more with international clients- companies in countries like Canada and the USA are taking digital transformation seriously and are keen on having AI/ML and blockchain-powered solutions.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of a screen?
Ganesh Verma: I try to limit my screen time to 7-8 hours per day and concentrate on my health more as the pandemic has shown us how important it is to take care of yourself both mentally and physically. As I work with international clients, sometimes, I have to spend more time in front of the screen.
The majority of executives use stories to persuade and communicate in the workplace. Can you share with our readers examples of how you implement that in your business to communicate effectively with your team?
Ganesh Verma: I have an open-door policy; any of my employees can come to me anytime, and I am always ready to listen to their issues and offer solutions. I make it a point to meet my team on a regular basis and ask them about specific problems they are facing at work.
These routine meetings help employees open up, and eventually, they start sharing their concerns. Also, communicating with employees frequently improves their morale and productivity. We started the hybrid work model because our employees wanted it as they felt traveling to work is a big chore that they are not ready to do every day.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now?
Ganesh Verma: For any business, customer acquisition is a challenge. Fortunately, we have clients from across the globe, and we are able to retain them because of our experienced and dedicated team. In my opinion, employees are the backbone of any organization; providing a great work culture, understanding their concerns, and helping them grow is a challenge as each individual is different and requires a personalized approach.
In 2022, what are you most interested in learning about? Crypto, NFTs, online marketing, or any other skill sets? Please share your motivations.
Ganesh Verma: I am excited to see where blockchain technology is heading as we will see major advancements in the technology. Since MoogleLabs works on cutting-edge technology, we are excited to see what the future holds for new technologies.
A record 4.4 million Americans left their jobs in September in 2021, accelerating a trend that has become known as the Great Resignation. 47% of people plan to leave their job during 2022. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. Do you think leaders see the data and think “that’s not me – I’m not that boss they don’t want to work for? What changes do you think need to happen?
Ganesh Verma: I am a firm believer in providing a positive environment for the team. No matter what your business is, if your employees are dissatisfied with you, you will face problems in running the business smoothly.
I emphasize one-on-one meetings so that employees can share their concerns with you without any hesitation. Also, if you find solutions to employee problems, they trust you and are happy to work with you. It’s important to create an environment where employees learn new things; when you assist them in their growth, employees value that.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Ganesh Verma: That’s an interesting question! Well, IT has been a fast-paced industry since its inception. So, I would really like the superpower to easily cope with the ever-changing IT world. I have to exercise constant discipline to keep tabs on the latest innovations in the profession to stay relevant in the business.
With the superpower to know it all as it happens, it would save me a lot of time that I can dedicate to other aspects of my life while still being able to serve my clients better. I guess you could say that the superpower I want infinite knowledge.
What does “success” in 2022 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Ganesh Verma: Success to me means doing what you love and getting fruitful results. This is the mantra that I follow in my life. Loving what you do and getting results brings peace of mind, and this is what I call “success.”
