Thank you for accepting my interview invitation! I’d love to know how you ended up becoming an entrepreneur? Tell me your story.
Brandon Green: As a young kid, I always was intrigued by business and business people. My love of Coffee and Sales simply merged, and I became an entrepreneur.
Tell our readers what your company does differently than your peers and why that difference is so important to your audience?
Brandon Green: Our company, Coffee King sources only Papua New Guinea beans as our premium coffee bean. We are known for selling some of the best Papua New Guinea coffee beans in Austrlaia. A true Bean-to-cup story.
Running a business, your’s or on behalf of someone requires great leadership skills. What are some of the biggest challenges you faced as you took on a leader’s role and what did you learn?
Brandon Green: Well I think the most obvious challenge that everyone has dealt with recently was Covid. You either sank or swim really. Everyone was dealt with the same challenges. It just came down to who could adapt the best. I learnt to just relax and go with the flow. Dont plan things, as tomorrow it could have all been taken away.
Success is not an accident. What are some routines and habits you learned to master that contributed to your current success?
Brandon Green: The biggest thing is listening to our customers. What they want is what you want to be offering them as a product or a service! Takes a while getting the listening part right. However once you do that, you can well and truly accommodate their needs.
Can you share with us defining moments in your journey, please give us details and stories to illustrate?
Brandon Green: A defining moment in our journey was definitely when we got in contact with our current coffee roaster. The Synergy was fantastic, and it just went from there!
The roaster really knew how to roast a Papuan New Guinea bean. Helped us with marketing, and success soon followed.
What are the five things you wish someone had told you before you became an entrepreneur?
Brandon Green: I’d say:
- You have to learn everything yourself.
- Don’t be scared to try different things.
- Don’t shoot down all advice. consider it.
- Never develop a big ego.
- So many other people are competing and learning more than you everyday. Don’t slack off!
Oftentimes we hear: “Your network is your net worth”, please share your thoughts on that adage and illustrate your experience.
Brandon Green: I like that phrase too. To me it means, build strong relationships with all in your industry. As your networth can never exceed the whole industry’s net worth, but you can gain a high percentage of that niche.
What are some professional or even personal goals you plan on tackling during the 2022 year? Share the battles you expect to face.
Brandon Green: Just continue growing, having the coffee sold more online, and getting some more big name guests on the podcast. 2022 is going excellent, and I am so very keen to see what 2023 and beyond brings us.
With all the social media platforms available, it’s increasingly difficult to be present everywhere. Which ones do you favor for your company and why?
Brandon Green: The big ones for us are Facebook, Youtube and Instagram. As for the others, you can spend all day if you were to use them all. We just stick to the main sites.
