We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Nicola Davolio: I am Nicola Davolio, a globally recognized entrepreneur and innovator in economics and business administration. I am passionate about combining scientific research with real-world value, which led to the creation of Hupry. This platform uses distributed privacy to make data secure, usable, and valuable.
I have faced several life-altering near-death experiences that have made me fearless, action-ready, and appreciate the present moment. I strive to tackle humanity’s most significant medical, financial, legal, and environmental challenges.
My favorite quote is, “You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice,” and my motto is, “How much you tolerate is inversely proportional to how you will be treated.”
If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffet, how would you describe your company, your services or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?
Nicola Davolio: Mr. Buffet, Hupry is a game-changer in the field of data privacy. Our platform uses distributed privacy to make data secure, usable, and valuable, unlocking its immense potential for humanity.
Our concept of open privacy sets us apart, a unique approach that allows for the free and confidential use of data. Our biggest strength is the combination of cutting-edge technology and our team’s expertise in blockchain, privacy, and artificial intelligence.
Hupry has the potential to revolutionize the industry.
Quiet quitting, The Great Resignation, are an ongoing trend causing many businesses to struggle keeping talent engaged and motivated. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. In your experience, what keeps employees happy? And how are adapting to the current shift we see?
Nicola Davolio: A positive and supportive work environment, opportunities for growth and development, and clear communication and feedback can contribute to employee satisfaction.
To adapt to the current “Quiet quitting trend,” companies must prioritize creating a culture that values and supports its employees. This can include regular check-ins and feedback sessions, opportunities for skill development and growth, and creating a sense of purpose and connection to the company’s mission.
It’s also crucial to address any issues of poor management or toxic company culture, as these are significant factors leading to employee dissatisfaction and turnover.
Here is a two fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?
Nicola Davolio: The book that influenced me the most is “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Victor Frankl. This book taught me the importance of having a purpose in life and finding meaning in adversity.
One of the critical lessons I learned from the book is that happiness cannot be pursued directly; instead, it is a byproduct of a life well lived with meaning and purpose. This book has inspired me to pursue my passions and live my life purposefully.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?
Nicola Davolio: The real challenge in business is finding a way to navigate and make the most of the rapidly evolving technological landscape. With new technologies emerging all the time, it’s essential to stay ahead of the curve and find innovative solutions to help businesses remain competitive.
Additionally, companies must address challenges related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical use of technology, all while maintaining transparency and responsibility.
The challenge is to find a balance between harnessing the power of technology for growth and ensuring that it is used responsibly and ethically.
In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?
Nicola Davolio: In my experience, effective communication is one of the most underestimated aspects of running a company. Communication is critical to keeping everyone on the same page and ensuring everyone is working towards a common goal. It is also crucial to create a positive company culture.
Unfortunately, many leaders assume that because they have a clear vision for the company, everyone else will automatically understand and follow it without clear and frequent communication.
For example, a company I worked with faced a challenge because the management team did not communicate its vision and strategy effectively to the rest of the employees. As a result, the employees felt disengaged and demotivated, leading to low morale and high turnover.
The company realized its mistake and worked to improve communication through regular team meetings and open forums for discussion, resulting in increased employee satisfaction and a more productive work environment.
What does “success” in the year to come mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Nicola Davolio: Success in the year to come means different things to different people; for me, it encompasses personal and business goals.
On a personal level, success means continuing to grow as a person and being able to impact those around me positively.
On a business level, success means being able to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with Hupry, making a real difference in the world, and ensuring that our platform is accessible to as many people as possible.
Ultimately, success means making a meaningful difference in the lives of others and leaving a positive legacy.
