We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Eno Eka: I am Eno Eka, a business analyst, and the CEO of Eny Consulting and the Business Analysis School. As a Nigerian immigrant, I made the journey to Canada in pursuit of a better life and career. Through hard work and dedication, I achieved remarkable success by securing a 6-figure consultant job within just six months.
Additionally, I am the author of “The 6 Figure Business Analyst: 12 Simple Steps to Kick Start Your Career Without a Tech Degree or Experience.” My passion lies in helping professionals elevate their skills and experience to transition into lucrative tech careers.
To date, I have provided coaching to over 100,000 individuals from across 90 countries, empowering them to achieve their career goals in the tech industry.
If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffett, how would you describe your company, your services or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?
Eno Eka: At the Business Analysis School, we specialize in providing business, IT and tech-related education along with consulting services tailored to helping professionals leverage their skills to land high paying jobs. Many students are immigrants just like me, and a lot of them feel like they need to start all over again from scratch in a new job market.
A common obstacle they encounter is the belief that their lack of “local” experience will hinder their job prospects. However, our unique approach focuses on highlighting the valuable skills and experiences they already possess for hot jobs such as business analysts in leading industries.
By equipping them with the necessary tools and expertise, we enable our students to secure not only well-paying jobs, but also fulfilling careers aligned with their aspirations.
What advice do you wish you had received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?
Eno Eka: Looking back, I wish I had a mentor advise me about hiring and delegation. What I eventually learned was you should hire slow and fire fast because you want to make sure you have a structured hiring process to ensure candidates are tested properly for all the required skills.
And then you want to fire fast because when someone is a wrong fit for a role within your organization, you are losing money every day that they are no longer bringing any value to that workplace.
In this next quarter, I plan to improve upon our existing systems and processes, specifically to do with hiring. We are also doing a full audit of all our current programs we offer and an analysis of our marketing goals.
Online business keeps on surging higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for the year to come and how are you capitalizing on the tidal wave?
Eno Eka: In today’s fast-paced society, remote work has become increasingly prevalent. I fully support the growing trend of remote work, which offers flexibility and efficiency as my whole team and I are remote. With tools like Zoom, professionals in various fields, including consulting, business analysis, and data analytics, can effectively work from home.
This arrangement not only promotes work-life balance but also saves costs for both businesses and employees. Without the need for physical office spaces, businesses can reduce overhead expenses, while employees can save on commuting and childcare costs.
Ultimately, remote work allows us to maximize productivity and enjoy more flexibility in our daily routines, whether it’s dedicating time to work or hitting the gym.
My expectation is that people will learn how to network more effectively online and find quality job or contract leads. This will become a higher priority and not just something that is optional. Actively engaging online through social media platforms is crucial for maintaining visibility, especially working remotely.
I capitalize on this wave by consistently sharing content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and my YouTube channel. This not only boosts brand awareness, but also generates potential business prospects.
Investing in a trusted public relations team this year has significantly amplified my visibility, particularly for my Business Analysis School and broader outreach initiatives aimed at educating and attracting prospective students.
Christopher Hitchens, an American journalist, is quoted as saying that “everyone has a book in them” Have you written a book? If so, please share with us details about it. If you haven’t, what book would you like to write and how would you like it to benefit the readers?
Eno Eka: Yes, I have written a book titled “The Six-Figure Business Analyst: 12 Simple Steps to Kickstart Your Career Without a Tech Degree or Experience.” This groundbreaking guide is designed to redefine careers and help individuals reach new financial heights without the need for a tech degree or prior experience.
It serves as a gateway to a six-figure corporate career and beyond, providing essential steps to success based on real-life success stories and practical wisdom.
Readers will discover the secrets, strategies, and skills required to unlock their potential in the dynamic world of business analysis. The book empowers individuals to take control of their destiny, embrace endless possibilities, and pursue their tech career dreams with confidence. It’s a roadmap to a six-figure salary and a fulfilling professional life.
In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?
Eno Eka: In my experience, one of the most underestimated aspects of running a company is the challenge of managing people and teams to continually grow. As an immigrant, I faced numerous obstacles on my journey to success, but my sheer determination to overcome these challenges and achieve my goals was paramount.
Through hard work and networking, I was able to secure a lucrative position in business analysis after six months of dedicated effort.
However, as a manager, I’ve found that effectively sharing my vision with my team on a daily basis is essential. It’s not just about setting goals and expectations; it’s about inspiring and guiding team members to reach their full potential. This aspect of leadership has tested me the most, yet it’s incredibly rewarding to see my team thrive.
My ultimate goal is to inspire and guide professionals, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, to achieve success by leveraging their existing skills and seizing opportunities in high-demand industries like business and technology.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Eno Eka: If I could choose any business superpower, I would pick the ability to see into the future. Imagine the possibilities!
With this power, I could anticipate upcoming trends and changes within my industry, allowing me to stay ahead of the curve and proactively create solutions to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
I could also leverage this superpower to provide solutions to existing sustainable developmental goals such as access to quality education, gender equality, decent work, economic growth, and reduced inequalities.
