How did your entrepreneurship journey and subsequently your career as a renowned motivational speaker start?
Dariush Soudi: I started my career in sales, because I’m dyslexic and I wasn’t good at school but I wanted to make money and sales was the easiest avenue to do that.
I loved that I was in control of how much money I was making because it was directly linked to my performance. And from there I grew and started various businesses in the UK and subsequently Dubai.
I would say that I’m an inspirational speaker rather than a motivational speaker because my goal is to inspire people to take action, but I actually came into that realm by accident.
I was attending motivational workshops and I kept getting feedback from strangers that my energy was great so I decided that I was going to take that energy and my knowledge to help other people achieve their goals and become rich.
What key strategies did you implement to achieve growth and success in your business?
Dariush Soudi: My key strategy was to always have a child-like curiosity for the client’s business to always add value. No matter who crossed my path, I was going to enhance their business.
I learned how to ask open ended questions to allow me to dig deep, build trust and like ability and find the true pain of the clients business.
What were some of the major obstacles or setbacks you faced along the way, and how did you navigate through them?
Dariush Soudi: When you run your business it’s like having your head on the chopping block every day. Therefore, challenges and setbacks happen all the time. Your desire to succeed should always exceed the challenges which one faces.
An entrepreneur’s success increases by the size of the obstacles and setbacks they overcome through the journey of. The bigger the challenge the bigger the reward. Therefore I embrace challenges enthusiastically.
What is the ONE key thing an entrepreneur can start doing to get better at selling and marketing their business?
Dariush Soudi: Entrepreneurs should understand the value of the problem they are solving in the marketplace and price it accordingly then they’re focus should be on their pitch.
The pitch needs to be simple and clearly communicate the message in order to close the deal. It’s important to remember that sales is a numbers game so entrepreneurs should be reaching out to as many people as possible, and be prepared to handle any objections their prospects might have.
As an entrepreneur you need to continuously be adapting and sharpening your skills to stay ahead of the market.
What are some of the key mistakes good leaders make and how can they correct this in time?
Dariush Soudi: In my 40 years of experience I’ve noticed that one key mistake that good leaders make is the inability to delegate so instead they micromanage. Micromanaging stops them from letting go of the business and inevitably stunts the businesses growth.
I would recommend that leaders structure a strong system and always hire someone who knows more than them, because they have to accept that they won’t be experts at everything. Lastly, monitor the system and make sure it’s working, good leaders guide and motivate.
Why did you start Gladiator Mastery?
Dariush Soudi: I created the program because of my own personal experience. I’ve lost millions before and had to rebuild my business from the ground up twice.
My goal is to help other entrepreneurs to save money, time and energy through sharing proven strategies and techniques that I used to build my businesses.
When most people think of success, they only think about money and I believe that success is having all aspects of your life working together in harmony which is a guide not often shared.
What is Gladiator Mastery Interactive?
Dariush Soudi: Currently the average attention span of an individual is 8.25 seconds, which means that training or coaching programs need to adapt and hold the attention of the audience even more so than ever.
Due to this, I’ve created an interactive program online that requires the participant to engage with the video in order to move on to the next module.
I’ve also created additional material that the participant needs to complete at the end of every module, and as an added bonus, all the material will be shared with their sales manager in order to track their progress.
How is Gladiator Mastery Interactive going to keep the user engaged and productive?
Dariush Soudi: I find that when your progress is being tracked and shared directly with your sales manager, your productivity increases and all of my courses are geared towards implementing action.
If you want to succeed, you have to practice the strategies and techniques shared in my courses, and that falls only on yourself.
Knowing that you are the defining factor that decides whether you become rich or remain the same is a great driving force.
What is your go to mantra?
Dariush Soudi: “This soon shall pass”. I’m very aware of how short life is and this mantra reminds me to stay in the present, appreciate everything, and to avoid procrastination.
Whether good or bad, life is precious and I want to make the most out of every moment.
