We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Asim Rais Siddiqui: I’m thrilled to be here and to share my vision for the world with others. To start off, I’m the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at TekRevol which is a US based digital transformation agency, rallying at the forefront of a tech revolution.
As a co-founding member of the company, my goal is deeply integrated into that of my company. We aim to provide the best digital solutions and guidance to help companies digitize in a period where going digital is the best solution to foster growth. I’m a business coach and consultant myself so my vision perfectly aligns with the company.
2021 and 2022 threw a lot of curve balls into business on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past couple years, how can businesses thrive in 2023? What lessons have you learned?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: The past few years were challenging to say the least but they were also extremely critical to TekRevol. The most crucial thing I was able to grasp and would advise everyone is to keep up with the ever-changing trends and adapt to them. The tech industry is full of innovations every day so you really have to be on your toes the whole time.
We were able to keep up and that’s what led to our growth. The Metaverse was one of the most-talked about topics on the internet in 2022. And at TekRevol we were able to incorporate it in our own business model as well. AI is the present and AI is the future and that’s what our current focus is. Look into what’s trending and figure out how it can benefit your business. With the right approach, your business can also thrive this coming 2023.
The pandemic seems to keep on disrupting the economy, what should businesses focus on in 2023? What advice would you share?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: The pandemic has been a cause of major economic uncertainty, impacting global supply chains. Nearly every business in the world was affected by it. Our goal was to turn this disruption into a positive one and that’s exactly what we did at Tekrevol.
A business should be flexible and as an entrepreneur you should have the ability to adapt to different circumstances. My advice for every business this upcoming year is to go digital. And I’m not just saying that because that’s what my company does!
Digitizing your business has proven to be game-changing for several industries. It allows you to create a personalized customer experience that your customers can access even from the comforts of their homes. Not to mention all the costs it reduces in the long-run. Digitizing your business in this time period is becoming a necessity instead of a choice.
How has the pandemic changed your industry and how have you adapted?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: The pandemic brought massive changes in the IT sector from a decline in production to a boom in demand for software like video conferencing. Being a part of the IT industry, we faced similar challenges but were able to overcome them successfully as the company underwent an internal transformation.
At TekRevol, we developed an agile framework, shifting our focus to value proposition. We also started offering consultancy on digital transformation and business automation which was a dire need in those trying times. We were able to not just get by but grow substantially during the pandemic thanks to this.
What advice do you wish you received when the pandemic started and what do you intend on improving in 2023?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: A piece of advice I wish I had known pre-pandemic was to build better relationships, both with clients and within the organizational structure. Authentic and transparent communication is a lifesaver. We often don’t realize how many problems we can avoid by just communicating. In 2023 we plan to build more systems that reduce the need for constant communication.
Online business surged higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for 2023?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: The sky’s the limit when it comes to technology. Cloud computing is already prevalent but with new work models like the hybrid or remote systems being permanently employed in companies, I can envision further innovation in that domain. The recently-launched ChatGPT took the world by storm, so I believe 2023 will be a big year for AI as well.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of a screen?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: I try to cap my daily screen time but with the nature of my job it’s inevitable that I have to spend anywhere between 12 to 16 hours in front of a screen. However I take regular breaks and try to read or relax in between.
The majority of executives use stories to persuade and communicate in the workplace. Can you share with our readers examples of how you implement that in your business to communicate effectively with your team?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: Rather than motivational stories, I believe in practical implementation. What worked for Elon Musk and Tesla or Jeff Bezos and Amazon may not work for us at TekRevol. Every entrepreneur is different and so is every organization. I adopt a hands-on approach to motivate my team and help them realize that failure is nothing to be scared of. Self-reflection and persistence are the keys to success.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: TekRevol recently made it on Inc. 5000, being listed as one of the fastest growing enterprises in the United States. We experienced an exponential growth of 829% in the past three years. We have managed to set ourselves apart and create a unique brand identity.
So the biggest challenge we face right now is to keep up with our growth. We want to get to the stage where our growth remains unhampered by any unprecedented circumstances that may come our way.
In 2023, what are you most interested in learning about? Crypto, NFTs, online marketing, or any other skill sets? Please share your motivations.
Asim Rais Siddiqui: ChatGPT had me intrigued right off the bat. I’m not gonna lie. It’s a revolutionary piece of technology and I’m extremely excited to see what it means for AI as a whole this 2023. I’m also a major blockchain enthusiast so I’m eager to see where that’s headed as well.
A record 4.4 million Americans left their jobs in September in 2021, accelerating a trend that has become known as the Great Resignation. 47% of people plan to leave their job during 2022. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. Do you think leaders see the data and think “that’s not me – I’m not that boss they don’t want to work for? What changes do you think need to happen?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: This is a very alarming statistic. Having half a decade of experience working at different organizations before I founded TekRevol, I know exactly what goes through the minds of these people when they resign. The only way around this is to develop healthy channels of communication and as I talked about above, that is also our goal for 2023.
Employee retention and employee satisfaction are crucial to any organization. We aim to create a company culture that allows everyone to voice out their ideas without any hesitation and engage in friendly debates over what the next course of action should be.
At TekRevol, we don’t have a rigid hierarchical structure and neither me nor my fellow co-founder consider ourselves “big shots.” We’re always available and accessible to everyone in our company.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Asim Rais Siddiqui: That’s quite an interesting question. I think a business superpower that not just me but any business would wish to acquire is foresight. Being able to see future industry trends instead of relying on intuition and predicting them would be of immeasurable help.
It can allow us to plan strategically and allocate our resources in accordance. But then again it would make things way too easy and there’s no fun in working without a challenge, is there?
What does “success” in 2023 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Asim Rais Siddiqui: For me TekRevol’s success is synonymous with my personal success. I have invested everything I have into this company, from financial resources to the pinnacle years of my youth along with sheer hard work and determination.
In 2023 I wish we can foster more small companies as part of our business incubation model. Our goal is 50 companies for now and we plan to provide them with all the financial and technical resources they need to stabilize themselves and go independent eventually.
