Countless people place the blame of not finding success on outside influences. The number one issue many people attribute their current statuses to is not having the money to fund their ideas or grow their companies, but what is standing in their way is themselves.
Ask any student in college right now and a majority of them will tell you that they are investing in their education. They didn’t go to school with the capital to pay for all four, six, or eight years. Many doctors and engineers are entering the workforce in debt, knowing they are going to have to work even harder than they did in school to pay back those loans.
While the cost of bettering one’s situation may draw out some complaints, nobody is complaining about investing time or money in themselves and their future, and they aren’t letting the absence of those things hold them back. The same can be said for Farrah Ali, entrepreneur, author, and real estate professional. We sat down and interviewed her to learn that if it wasn’t for her determination to make something of herself, she never would have reached her goals, despite what challenges came her way.
A Worthwhile Investment
Regardless of her experiences, challenges, or circumstances, Ali overcame it all with a drive and passion that never faltered. Her experiences fueled her ambition even more, and she realized that she wanted to do more, be more, and create more for herself and her family.
Her desire to build a better life for herself and her children led her to explore the world of real estate investing. Her first foray into real estate investing was not easy, but she was determined to succeed. She faced numerous obstacles, including the fear of failure and the lack of resources that plague many people wanting to enter this space. However, Ali persevered and eventually became a successful real estate investor.
She attributes her success to being determined enough to invest in a mentor, knowing it was what she needed to reach her goals.
“It doesn’t matter how many YouTube videos you watch, how many articles and books you read, you can’t put that into practice until you learn from a real person, those other things are just a little piece of the puzzle,” said Ali. “It wasn’t cheap to get the mentor, and I didn’t have any money. I put it on my credit card and told myself that just like in college, we spend hundreds of thousands to get a college education, why not invest in a mentor?”
With the help of a mentor, Ali made a name for herself in real estate investing and now has a steady income stream and time to dedicate to her other passions, like being present for her family.
A Lot to Offer
Ali’s personal experiences and the questions she received from others about her journey in real estate investing inspired her to take on a mentor-like role for others.
People often asked her how she managed to invest in real estate while working full-time and being a single mother of two children with no money and she recognized that her story could inspire and motivate others, particularly women who face unique challenges in the business world.
She wanted to provide a resource for anyone who wanted to break into the real estate industry but didn’t know where to start, so she wrote a book titled “Diaries of a Female Real Estate Investor.” By sharing her story and providing practical advice, she has the chance to empower others to pursue their dreams of financial freedom and success.
“It all comes back to overcoming challenges. It wasn’t until I started real estate investing that I truly realized that the most valuable asset I have is my time, and I wanted to have the freedom of time while also making a passive income,” said Ali. “Now I get paid but it is not at the expense of my time. I don’t have to exchange my time with my family to be able to support them.”
