Career in Healthcare

Healthcare can be seen as an extremely stressful way to put a wide variety of careers into a nutshell. The reality is healthcare can range from chiropractors to brain surgeons and everything in between. Over 22 million Americans work within the industry, which is an incredible 14% of the workforce in the United States. While many salaries can be low during the initial stages, the correct education can place you or your loved ones into an extremely high-paying, rewarding career, and here’s why.

Variation

The healthcare industry is estimated to be worth over 2 trillion dollars a year, spanning over 16 million related jobs. Of course, these will not all be well-paid progressive careers, but it displays the broad variation across the industry. This can be advantageous as being involved in the industry will make stepping into different medical principles an option for you. Just like in every industry, knowing people and maintaining the correct education can greatly increase the variety of your career during your working life. You may find yourself burnt out in your current principle but luckily have the contacts and experience to cross into another career. These changes can range from nursing, social care, psychotherapy, and even practitioner skill sets. Of course, the correct education unlocks these doors, but there are plenty to go around for those who apply themselves.

Giving Back

The healthcare industry has very clear intentions, keeping us alive and well from back pain to broken bones. Any calls upon the healthcare industry. Being a part of this honorable industry and playing your part can only increase your self-esteem. The stressful days and nights, no matter which principle you specialize in, can be left at bay when you have your own time to take stock and credit yourself with what you do for a living. Everybody in the healthcare industry is giving back in one way or another; they can be the first person a family will see when visiting a family member who has just had their life saved, or they can be the one to give you answers to the tough questions after your loved one has stressed themselves out googling their minor ailments.

Salary

The average salary for healthcare workers starts at $44,000 a year, which works out at $22.75 an hour, roughly $15 above the minimum wage of $7.25. Although entry levels begin at about $30,000, the correct health science degree can be sure to place you far above the average salary. If your child is taking an interest in this career pool, they could be placing themselves strategically within an industry which will provide them with a financially secure future as early as their twenties.

Career Expectations

The more you put in, the more you get out. The high-paying roles come with their responsibilities and likely a unique set of mental hurdles to climb. Those who apply themselves and achieve the correct education can thrive financially and mentally within the healthcare industry. An example found for an athletic trainer displays a salary average of 40,000 dollars, providing you have a master’s degree. For somebody who has a genuine interest in athletics, applying yourself to the educational principle can lead them to a role they could thrive in for decades and allow them to profit from their hobby.

As previously mentioned, the healthcare industry is a trillion-dollar business, and statistics project the industry will grow by 13% between 2021 – 2031, meaning the overall profit margins will also increase. Those willing to dedicate themselves to this industry are likely to thrive from a young age providing them with a dynamic, profitable career that can leave them with a filled bank by the time they hang up their stethoscope.
