2020 and 2021 threw a lot of curve balls into business on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past couple years, how can businesses thrive in 2022? What lessons have you learned?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: In life there will always be curve balls, no matter what is going on. But business never changes. Business is people. Where attention goes, money flows. Meaning what people are focusing on is where the company attention needs to goto. At the end of the day any business serves people, and if the past few years taught us anything, is that a lot more people are spending time online. That means building more digital assets for marketing and servicing.
The pandemic seems to keep on disrupting the economy, what should businesses focus on in 2022? What advice would you share?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: Aside from focusing on going digital, the pandemic has reinforced my main belief. That is how you treat your people. A company is not you, it is not your office or your logo. It is simply the people that are working with you. And it is really clear, the companies that take the best care of their team/ employees are the ones that thrive. People have a lot of options today, as in the way they can generate an income.
They really don’t need to work for you, they literally can make a full time income now by posting on TikTok. Why does this matter? Because if you ever want to scale and go above where you currently are, you need a great team, because 2 minds are better than one, 10 minds are even better, when you have that kind of power behind you… No obstacle is too big. Your foundation is the people, reinforce them.
How has the pandemic changed your industry and how have you adapted?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: Luckily we are in the e-commerce industry. The pandemic only made it more of a demand. So really the only thing that we experienced was bottlenecks in expansion. Everyone is realizing that they need to get involved with e-commerce.
What advice do you wish you received when the pandemic started and what do you intend on improving in 2022?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: The advice is already out there, there is no excuse. Get more attention online, build a stronger brand, and do something that matters.
Online business surged higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for 2022?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: Online work is only going to get more popular. Expect meetings to be happening in the metaverse. No one wants to drive to a meeting and waste time on commuting.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of a screen?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: 8-10 hours a day between phone and computer.
The majority of executives use stories to persuade and communicate in the workplace. Can you share with our readers examples of how you implement that in your business to communicate effectively with your team?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: Facts tell, stories sell.
This is why executives do it. A story relates to people, it get’s their emotions involved.
The way I do it personally is simply talking to the team as if I’m talking to a child. It sounds strange but thats just how the human mind works.
Cause, effect, some emotional expressions and you have a kids novel about a business goal. Play around with it, that’s the only way to get good at it.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: As of now , the biggest challenge is fear. A lot of people are scared of what’s happening to the economy. A recession is on their mind. Stock market is struggling, crypto is in the same boat, gas prices are through the roof and the interest rates will continue to rise.
In 2022, what are you most interested in learning about? Crypto, NFTs, online marketing, or any other skill sets? Please share your motivations.
Vladyslav Varizhuk: The thing that sparks an interest for me is the metaverse. Where all the NFTs, cryptos and others will come to life and help people all over the world experience mass adoption. I believe who ever is building assets for the metaverse right now, is on track for the largest economic boom in history.
A record 4.4 million Americans left their jobs in September in 2021, accelerating a trend that has become known as the Great Resignation. 47% of people plan to leave their job during 2022. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. Do you think leaders see the data and think “that’s not me – I’m not that boss they don’t want to work for? What changes do you think need to happen?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: As stated in my previous answer. Your people are your foundation, and a company is a not a company without the people.
A true leader brings people up and helps them win. If you are not doing that, you are one of those bosses people will leave.
Help people win and they will help you win as well.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Vladyslav Varizhuk: I think the best superpower in business is communication. And everyone can improve on their communication skills, and needs to. To be able to communicate fast and efficiently will solve problems before they appear. And complete tasks with everyone on the same page is a blessing.
What does “success” in 2022 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Vladyslav Varizhuk: Success to me is really spending time doing what I want to be doing in that moment. That means automating more of my business and removing myself from it more and more. Just like Jeff Bezos, he owns very little of Amazon at this point, and now enjoys more of his life. The reality is none of us know when our last day comes. It’s important to me to spend more time doing things that you enjoy, because we all get caught up in this “work work work” mentality and forget who we really are.
