We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Gharjyot Singh: I am Gharjyot Singh, CEO of Cerebrum Infotech. With a bachelor’s degree in technology and computer sciences, I have had the opportunity to serve and explore my capabilities in the IT industry for nearly a decade now. Embarking on my journey as a newbie, with time, I have picked up skills that are playing a massive role in my career enhancement.
My journey has been challenging and fascinating so far. As a part of my job, I meet new interesting people daily who are great visionaries. Over time I made sure to keep updating my business knowledge; for that, I did a professional certification course to develop my expertise in software architecture.
Coming to Cerebrum Infotech-it has been the most unique and extraordinary part of my journey. Cerebrum is a software and web development company. With Cerebrum, our primary focus has always been to deliver quality service and be on the go for innovative ways.
We’ve had some challenging projects along the way but came through as winners- as our prime priority has been fulfilling clients’ core requirements
In the past year, what is the greatest business achievement you’d like to celebrate with your team? Please share the details of that success.
Gharjyot Singh: Expanding our team’s expertise by recruiting more seasoned developers and designers accelerated our growth speed to brilliant levels- definitely one of the most outstanding business achievements to celebrate with the team.
Employing new talent was on the watch-list for quite some time; However, our team was sufficient, but there was a curiosity as to how the world viewed our projects, and employing team members with unbiased vision and thought process gave us a revivifying outlook to our work processes.
Other than this, If I have to share success details, it would be that of a mobile application development project we embarked on just a few months prior. The application was for a startup manufacturing organic and homemade bath bombs; we met clients’ first expectations and surpassed brilliant feedback.
What advice do you wish you received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?
Gharjyot Singh: I do not wish anyone had told me what precautions to take before I started. I am grateful for my business journey and all the ups and downs throughout. I made mistakes and learned a valuable lesson every time, but if someone asks me, then I would probably advise them the following;
- Test every theory practically,
- Have a reliable financial plan to fall back on,
- Ensure to do savings bit by bit along the way,
- Prioritize long-term growth,
- Connect socially with successful entrepreneurs,
- Give importance to team-building activities,
- Be optimistic even in the worst of times.
We are prepared for the next quarter; a challenge once in a while never hurts anyone. Every challenge is a new opportunity that comes along with meaningful lessons.
Here is a two fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?
Gharjyot Singh: It is hard to name just one book, but if I had to pick a book- it would definitely be “Zero to One” by Blake Masters and Peter Thiel.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?
Gharjyot Singh: The real challenge that is prevalent in this day and age is the lack of patience. People are short on patience; they want everything as quickly as possible. Social media has only added fuel to the scenario, giving rise to a “need to know now” culture.
Gradually across my business journey, I picked on valuable skills I learned from my mentors, such as being thoughtful and having an innovative frame of mind. I am a man of patience; I like to take my time with things to understand them thoroughly to get the best potential outcome.
When it comes to overcoming obstacles in business and creating new opportunities, I hold onto positivity and channel all my energy into developing strategic and unique strategies.
In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?
Gharjyot Singh: In my entrepreneurial journey, I have observed companies inconsiderate towards their employees’ mental health.
Especially in this time and day, we are aware of the pressures of working and social life. Organizations can hold weekly fun activities & games to take the load off, employees. The stress of a job needs to be addressed- it is a grave concern that apparently gets ignored.
What does “success” in the year to come mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Gharjyot Singh: Success on a business level for me is to be able to drive extraordinary results with minimum and smart efforts. Some businesses need help to get the expected results even after continuous hard work. They are bound in a loop that restricts them from making real progress.
I give my best to motivate my team, sort out any unhealthy boundaries and push them from their comfort zone. When it comes to personal level success, I consider many areas while thought-processing if I am successful or not or what will make me more of a success.
So, it’s not easy for me to point at one singular aspect of my personal journey.
