We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Christian Stella: I am a 4th generation pharmacist, and the way I like to connect our pharmacy to what we do is the heritage of my legacy. My great grandfather was a pharmacist in Brooklyn, and he focused on traditional compounding, because that was the only type of medication they could offer at the time.
We emulate that in the Precision model because we are both a sterile and nonsterile compounding pharmacy. (We are NABP accreditated and LegitScripts certified) My grandfather owned a pharmacy in Canarsie, Brooklyn. He was the town urgent care before urgent cares existed.
We wanted to take the way my grandfather helped patients, combining that with a technology platform. Patient’s receiving notifications every step of the way through telemedicine is the modern way to do what my grandfather set out to do.
My father is an entrepreneur that values expansion, and he expands retail pharmacies throughout the New York area. We wanted to do this all across the United States. We have a facility in New York, Florida, and we are actively working on standing up a pharmacy in Arizona.
How has the significance of networking evolved over the past decades?
Christian Stella: For me, networking was always a part of my life. Whether it was at school, meeting new students, making friends in pharmacy school. When it comes to business relationships, there is never a time where I feel like I shouldn’t go talk to someone.
The value of a conversation between two people in the industry is invaluable. I’ve leveraged LinkedIn as the most powerful source of networking. You can connect with anyone, from any niche, from any location.
Networking is changing. 60% of my relationships have been developed through LinkedIn, another 20% from crossing paths at industry conferences, and 20% through warm introductions.
Can you share a personal story where one networking interaction led to unexpected doors opening, and how it highlights the ripple effect of networking?
Christian Stella: I was introduced to an industry expert in telemedicine. This connection led to many things, including lifelong advisory work, investor access, and friendships.
If I didn’t take that introduction call, Precision would not be in the position it is today.
What are some common networking mistakes people make, and how can they pivot to turn potential missteps into learning experiences?
Christian Stella: From my experience, you should always want to have a few phone calls with someone before you offer up sensitive information. Getting to really know someone first, and trusting your gut on that person’s true values is more important than discussing business from the jump.
If you are too open with the wrong people, it may have negative consequences. It is also never a great idea to start working with someone over a free lunch.
How do you see the future of networking evolving with the rise of AI, VR, and other technologies?
Christian Stella: Look at something like Reddit or LinkedIn. These platforms put people into categories based on what people are interested in. Can you imagine how AI is going to do that going forward?
I can foresee apps being developed based on your desires, and through AI software, connecting you with the exact person that is able to help you. It is crazy to see how quickly social media developed over the years. AI is going to take that to an entirely new level
