Embodying The American Dream
Given his swift rise up the ranks, from a technical apprentice working HVAC jobs at the age of 11 to the owner of a powerhouse generating millions in revenue, Slade’s journey is emblematic of the American dream.
He spent his formative years in the 1990s helping his father navigate the ups and downs of running his own HVAC company. Thereafter, he segued to learning about construction, and over the next twenty years, grew to master the art of gaining his clients’ satisfaction.
Slade attributes his success to gaining a deep understanding of ‘the nuts and bolts’ of the technical side of the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing trades, and to adopting a philosophy of generosity.
Gene shared, “That’s how I grew my company, by giving away $250 HVAC tune-ups for free. We were wildly successful.”

Slade’s humble beginnings also inform his soft spot for sales reps who might easily spend 60 to 80 hours working and still not meet their quotas. One of Slade’s favorite success stories is that of a sales rep who went from 2.7 million to 5.4 million dollars in sales after taking his revolutionary courses. What Slade loves about this story is that this rep took the last ten weeks of the year off to have a baby with his wife and stay home with them.
“What I care about is helping these guys get home for dinner, and be able to tuck their kids in at night, as I didn’t on so many nights,” said Slade. “I want them to have the freedom to have a life.”
