How do you define success?
Jay Dhahan: For me, success transcends mere financial milestones; it’s about recognizing and harnessing your intrinsic value. It has taken a lifetime to redefine success,a journey shaped by overcoming personal and professional challenges.
Success begins with mastering one’s domain and acknowledging one’s value across all facets of life. I call it “Owning Your Worth,” crucial for every CEO and individual.
It involves understanding your purpose deeply and strategically pursuing your goals. Success, tome, also means cultivating an environment where those around me are empowered to maximize their potential,thus making a meaningful impact on their lives.
As I continue to evolve and succeed, my aspiration is for others to grow alongside me. “Owning Your Worth” not only bolsters resilience and ethical integrity in leadership but also sets a standard for our team, continuously rising as we conquer new heights.
I believe that one day, I’ll measure my success by the lives I’ve touched through my work and my commitment to being a role model.
Education, hard work, and dedication to something larger than oneself define a life of success and my definition of wealth.
How has your upbringing influenced who you are today?
Jay Dhahan: My upbringing has had a profound impact on shaping who I am today. Raised in Canada by immigrant parents—my father from India and my mother from England with Indian heritage—we faced numerous challenges.
Starting with just $100, my father worked late-night cleaning jobs at the World Health Club, supported by my mother, while my grandfather cared for us.
Helater drove a taxi and established one of the first Indian grocery stores in our community, marking a step toward financial stability and a better life.
Despite these achievements, my childhood was fraught with challenges, including exposure to gang violence, physical assaults, and a brief stint in jail.
This experience was a turning point,forcing me to reflect on the life I wanted and instilling in me the values of perseverance, resilience, and self -reliance.
These challenges, coupled with my parents’ entrepreneurial spirit, fueled my drive to pursue opportunities in the U.S., chasing the American Dream where I believed I could make a substantial impact and create an environment conducive to nurturing talent, similar to the opportunities that shaped my early life.
What turned your life into a mission?
Jay Dhahan: My life’s mission was forged through a series of pivotal moments. At age 10, severe bullying at school preceded a later achievement as Prom King—an experience that taught me about the power of money, both beneficial and harmful.
By 17, standing in a jail cell, I confronted a stark reality: Was this to be my life’s path? The emotions—anger, shame, guilt—forced me to ponder my future, determined to avoid becoming a statistic.
Thus began my vision for NextGen Wealthy, driven by a desire to inspire the next generation to surpass my achievements.
I invested heavily in personal development, mentored by others, and by 24, I found financial success. Moving to the U.S. marked a significant turning point, where on December 22, 2021, a profound moment clarified my purpose: to feed hungry children, educate youth, and collaborate with today’s leaders to build a brighter future.
Now at 31, this mission continues to be my guiding force.

Who is your hero?
Jay Dhahan: While it may sound cliché, my father continues to be my hero. He imparted invaluable lessons—hard work, dedication, and perseverance—despite not always being physically present due to providing for our family.
His unconventional support allowed me to negotiate car deals at 15 and establish a commercial real estate business at 24, experiences that built my confidence and shaped my path.
My father’s belief in me, despite setbacks, revealed his unwavering support and investment in my potential, shaping the man I am today.
You mention that your life story revealed your life’s purpose. How has that enhanced your life’s mission?
Jay Dhahan: My journey, engaging with thousands, revealed a critical void: men failing to seize leadership roles in relationships, business, and fatherhood. Many focus solely on financial success, equating time with money.
