We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.

William Levine: I’m Dr. William Levine, DDS founder of Izun pharmaceutical Corp and founder of the Jerusalem Perio Center. I specialize in the treatment of oral diseases and implantology and for the last 35 years have been helping patients treat and manage various forms of gum diseases. I am an active board member of several hospitals and healthcare centers in Israel.  I received my DDS and Certificate of Periodontology at Columbia University, New York.  When I am not helping patients at my office, I am researching safe, natural and effective ways for my patients to be healthy and stay healthy. 

For the last 35 years I have been treating my patients with mouthwashes that simply kill bacteria but I was constantly looking for something that would not only kill the bacteria but that would 

reduce inflammation, the root cause of gum disease, and strengthen the gums. Most people don’t know that periodotitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth that can gradually destroy the structures that support the teeth.  In order to treat the disease we must treat the inflammation. There was nothing on the market that could target bacteria, reduce inflammation and strengthen the gums, so I set out to create PeriActive.

PeriActive is a natural and effective plant based mouthwash that not only kills bacteria but it reduces inflammation and strengthens the gums. PeriActive is a unique product that is based on natural plant based/botanical extracts that can help manage and prevent gum diseases. It is a natural product and comprised of three main plant ingredients that work together as an antibacterial, anti inflammatory and encourage gum healing: Centella Asiatica (promotes and amplifies wound healing), Echinacea Purple (prevents tissue college breakdown), and Sambucus Nigra (anti-inflammatory). PeriActive clinical trials have shown that PeriActive is more effective than any of its competitors at reducing inflammation and increasing healing.

If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffet, how would you describe your company, your services or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?

William Levine: PeriActive is a novel mouth rinse designed to help reduce plaque buildup and oral inflammation while promoting gingival healing. Its unique triple action formula is homeopathic and contains natural plant BioActives. It is a natural product and contains no alcohol and doesn’t stain. PeriActive has only been available to dentists for the last 10 years and they have seen remarkable results in their patients oral health. 

PeriActive clinical trials have shown that PeriActive is more effective than any of its competitors at reducing inflammation and increasing healing. Other mouth rinses on the market simply kill plaque bacteria, PeriActive kills bacteria but also penetrates the gums and treats the inflammation, which is the underlying cause of gum disease.  We are excited to bring PeriActive directly to the consumer so everyone can benefit from superior oral health.

What advice do you wish you received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?

William Levine: I am a Periodontist for 35 years and love my practice and my patients.  I created PeriActive because there was nothing on the market that could treat inflammation, which is the root cause of gum disease. When I began, I only marketed PeriActive to Dentists because that is what I knew and I was happy to be helping more people. I didn’t even think about offering PeriActive directly to the consumer. I am excited to work with a new team and bring PeriActive directly to the consumer so everyone can have access to and  enjoy superior oral health.

Online business keeps on surging higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for the year to come and how are you capitalizing on the tidal wave?

William Levine: We are excited to enter the online market and see a huge opportunity.  Currently about half of all adults, in the United States, aged 30 years or older show signs of gum disease. That’s about 64.7 million people! We are excited to use social media and the internet to reach our customer, inform our customer and help our customer manage and prevent gum disease. We plan to use online advertising, social media influencers and video marketing to reach our market.

Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?

William Levine: The biggest challenge for PeriActive is informing people the importance of treating inflammation and knowing the signs of gum disease. Most adults might think that if their gums are bleeding it is from brushing too hard, but it is usually a sign of gum disease. For years the Medical and Dental communities have really been separate, but there is so much evidence that your oral health and systemic health are very closely connected.  

Many studies have proven a link between your oral health and systemic diseases including cardiovascular disease, dementia, obesity and diabetes to name a few.  It is our job to educate the public so they are aware of these systemic health implication as well as swollen bleeding and painful gums and eventual tooth loss. The customer must understand why it is so important to use PeriActive. The main reason being it will treat the inflammation in the mouth and allow the body to heal.

2020, 2021, 2022 threw a lot of curve balls into businesses on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past years, how can businesses thrive in 2023? What lessons have you learned and what advice would you share? 

William Levine: Businesses that add value to a persons life always have the opportunity to thrive with the right marketing. The last few years the internet has given opportunity to so many small businesses. It’s amazing that we can have access to everything that would make our lives better and/or easier at our fingertips. 

I still believe that a superior product that adds value to someones life will grow from word of mouth and the internet can and has made that happen quicker than ever before. If anything these past few years have taught me, is to trust myself and my instincts and keep improving the lives of others.

What does “success” in the year to come mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.

William Levine: I am excited for the year ahead and know it will be successful.  Success to me is helping more people next year than I did this past year. This success is not just in business but in my personal life too. I really value my relationships and all the people in my life. It is hard because I only have so many hours in the day and I am busier than ever, but I try to always stay present. 

PeriActive has given me the opportunity to help millions of people and there is no better feeling then when a customer reaches out to me and Thanks me for creating this product because it has made their life easier and better.
