That Elderberry Lady: A Natural Path to Holistic Wellness

It is within this space that Lisa Everlight has built That Elderberry Lady, a brand rooted in the idea of gradual progress. “If you are doing one more thing natural, that matters,” she says.

According to Everlight, That Elderberry Lady speaks to those navigating the middle ground, particularly women seeking more natural choices for themselves and their families without subscribing to rigid expectations. “It is okay to be in the middle of the transition,” Everlight says. For her, the goal was to build something that feels accessible, human, and sustainable. According to her, That Elderberry Lady acknowledges the reality of small, consistent decisions that shape long-term well-being, which many experience.

Everlight says that the origins of That Elderberry Lady began through an unexpected collaboration with one of her coaching clients, who had first created the elderberry product line. Together, they recognized a natural alignment between physical health and mental resilience. When Everlight eventually took full ownership in 2022, she brought with her a background in accounting, a growing coaching practice, and lived experience navigating her own evolving approach to natural living.

That Elderberry Lady offers a focused range of elderberry-based syrups designed to support different aspects of everyday health, along with other natural products. “We have a signature elderberry syrup that helps with immunity and inflammation, the sinus syrup for respiratory care, and a super syrup for those regularly exposed to new environments and people. We also have a sleepy syrup for rest and recuperation,” Everlight explains.

Studies show that elderberries are rich in anthocyanins, a class of polyphenolic compounds with well-documented antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, which are understood to support immune system function at a cellular level. These bioactive compounds may stimulate immune response pathways and contribute to the reduction of oxidative stress, while elderberry preparations can modestly reduce the duration and severity of upper respiratory symptoms. 

“Every ingredient that we use in our products is plant-based and easily recognizable. The formulations are designed to be family-friendly and tasty. There is a general misconception that natural products do not taste good. But I believe that wellness should not feel like a punishment,” says Everlight.

Through her coaching, Everlight emphasizes that inflammation is as much a mental and emotional state as it is a biological condition. She frames stress, overwhelm, and burnout as forms of mental inflammation that require the same level of attention as physical symptoms.

“My perspectives are shaped by my own life,” she says. “I went through my divorce while managing my business and raising four children. And it wasn’t easy. But the company continued to operate, customers returned, and subscriptions were renewed. That, to me, was a testament of both the strength of the product and the trust that I had built.”

Everlight says she has become a familiar presence within her local community, known affectionately as that elderberry lady, after the company name. “We offer permission: permission to start small, move at a pace that feels realistic, and choose better without needing to choose perfectly,” she emphasizes.

Everlight’s goals are clear. She wants to expand the possibilities of her brand beyond her local community and into the world. She says, “When you clear the inflammation of your body and your mind, what you can do is limitless.”
