Thank you for joining us, please introduce yourself to our readers.
Taylor Victoria: Hi, I’m Taylor. I’m an international speaker, agency owner, travel lover and unshakable optimist that is on a mission to create a global movement helping you create an extraordinary, through the power of mindset and entrepreneurship!
My ultimate goal is to give you YOUR opportunity to live an extraordinary life of freedom. As you know, we’re living in a digital age where everyone in the entrepreneurial world preaches to be living this ‘freedom lifestyle’ and making a huge impact, but behind closed doors, it is a very different story.
So, I am here to change that narrative for us all! I am here to show you how you can build the business of your dreams and start to live your dream freedom lifestyle.
Can you tell our readers in what ways you are disrupting your industry?
Taylor Victoria: Myself and the team at Outsource Monkey have a HUGE vision for how we are disrupting the industry. We envision radically shifting international economies towards collaborative business growth and work from home opportunities, empowering people to live extraordinary lives. We are on a mission to unlock the potential of business growth, innovation and creativity by bridging the gap between business owners and online experts in the Philippines!
Did you become a disruptor by choice or by necessity? Tell us more about the journey.
Taylor Victoria: Communications and Advertising. After completing a 6 month internship, no one would give me a job because I ‘didnt have enough experience’. So I thought to myself ‘STUFF THIS! If no one will give me a job, I will make one!’.
That is when I started my first business and took a huge risk by moving to Bali to go all-in on the business when I only had 1 client. Since then, I have started multiple companies and now run Outsource Monkey, a virtual assistant agency pairing International business owners with VAs in the Philippines.
Since Outsource Monkey started 1.5 years ago, I have been able to grow the team to over 80 people with online experts in all areas of business. We are on track to have a 7 figure year and I could not be happier with the amazing team I have supporting me in the business. It makes life feel fun when you love what you do and are surrounded by talented, extraordinary people!
Now for the main focus of this interview: Many readers may wonder what are the biggest challenges women entrepreneurs must overcome to be successful?
Taylor Victoria: For me the biggest challenge has been overcoming my own self doubt, limiting beliefs and imposter syndrome. Particularly when I first moved to Bali to run my own business, it was really bad. I would think to myself on a daily basis ‘Who am I to be living my dream life in Bali?! How can people actually be paying me to do this?!’
But with every new goal you achieve and every new phase of business you go through, your confidence grows, you learn more and you prove to yourself that you deserve everything you have worked so hard for! I work on my mindset on a daily basis so that I am always mindful of my thought patterns. I surround myself with inspirational people so that I am motivated to be a better person. It is a conscious choice you have to make if you want to overcome your own limiting beliefs but it is certainly possible!
How did you overcome these obstacles? Who helped you during these difficult times and how did they?
Taylor Victoria: I work on my mindset every day by meditating, visualising myself achieving my goals, and repeating affirmations. I am constantly working with coaches to help me develop my skills and abilities as an entrepreneur and leader.
It took a lot of practice, but I consistently showed up every day and through showing up, I started to prove to my subconscious mind that I am capable of anything that I put my mind to!
How did these lessons shaped the way you conduct business today?
Taylor Victoria: My personal development journey HUGELY impacted how I run my business today. I truly believe that my team is capable of anything we put our minds to, we just need the right knowledge and resources to achieve it.
I am also a very EQ based leader… I believe that emotional intelligence is just as important, if not more, than intellectual intelligence.
Company culture is very important. I want my team to have the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them without fearing losing their job. We constantly promote creativity, innovation and learning so that everyone can grow as individuals while they work for Outsource Monkey. We do regular leadership training sessions with an outside coach, meaning that everyone is learning the right strategies to show up as the best leader possible!
What advice you wished you had received when you started, that you’d like to share now with aspiring women entrepreneurs?
Taylor Victoria: Don’t underestimate the power of systems and processes. They give you leverage so that things can happen in your business without you needing to oversee it. Also, ‘delegate or delete’. What I mean by that is if you are working too many hours IN the business instead of ON the business, either delete the tasks you are doing or delegate them to someone else. If you can master this, your business will scale faster than you could ever imagine!
Out of all of your proudest moments as an entrepreneur, is there a particular one that stands out the most?
Taylor Victoria: Every month we have a whole company team meeting and I get to see everyone’s faces. The fact that we have 80 people that join Zoom and are a part of our team blows my mind. It brings me so much joy to see everyone and hear about how they love working for Outsource Monkey. It makes me feel like a proud mum every month.
What do you plan on tackling during the 2022 year? Share your goals and battles you expect to face.
Taylor Victoria: In the remainder of 2022, we are planning on signing up 100 new clients; creating 100 new work from home jobs for people in the Philippines. We are also going to start running in person events to teach people how to build an extraordinary marketing team without breaking the bank! It will be very exciting and a great opportunity to share knowledge with the business community.
I’m sure our readers will be very thankful for the insights you have shared. What is the best book you’ve gone through lately and please share some take away lessons from it.
Taylor Victoria: Measure What Matters by John Doerr. It is a fantastic book that teaches you how to set goals for your company and get your team engaged in working towards them with you!
Thank you so much for your time but before we finish things off, I do have one more question for you. When was the last time you did something for the first time and what was it?
Taylor Victoria: This year in June, I had a young man fly over from the UK to intern with me. I showed him how Outsource Monkey works and taught him our sales process. He is now my sales representative and a major part of my business growth plan for the future!
