We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Saurabh Arora: After immigrating to Australia from India, I faced the challenge of rebuilding my career in a new country. I climbed the ranks of the banking industry, starting as a teller and ultimately becoming a branch manager. But my passion lay in empowering others to achieve their financial dreams.
Embracing a new challenge, I entered the world of mortgage broking and quickly rose to become a top-performing mobile lender for ANZ, where I honed his skills and developed my signature client-centric approach. I’m known for our lightning-fast service, proactive communication, and ability to make even the most complex situations feel effortless.
In 2023, I founded Eminence Finance Group, a company that reflects my dedication to client care and a passion for building long-term financial security. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer, a growing family, or a savvy investor, I’m the guide you want by your side.
My expertise has earned me recognition as a finalist in the AFG Awards for Broker of the Year and a ranking among the top 50 brokers in Victoria. But my true reward is the satisfaction of helping clients achieve their property ownership dreams and build a brighter financial future.
Beyond my professional achievements, I am a dedicated family man and an avid cricket enthusiast.
What are your top personal and professional goals for 2025, and how do you plan to achieve them?
Saurabh Arora: My top goals for 2025 are a mix of personal and professional aspirations. On the professional side, I’m really excited about expanding my team and moving into a dedicated office space. This will allow us to serve even more clients and provide an even better experience for them. I also want to make a bigger impact on the community by offering more financial education and partnering with charities that are close to my heart.
Of course, building Eminence Finance Group into a leading brand is a major focus. I want to be known as the go-to advisor for anyone looking to grow their wealth through property. And I’m passionate about mentoring other brokers and helping them build successful businesses too. Sharing what I’ve learned and raising the standards of the industry is something I’m really committed to.
On a personal level, I’m making a conscious effort to achieve a better work-life balance. I’ve learned that it’s important to take care of myself and make time for my family and personal interests. I also want to keep growing and learning as a person, so I plan to attend industry events, read, and explore new things that challenge and inspire me.
To achieve all of this, I rely on a few key things:
I have a clear business plan with specific goals and strategies, and I regularly check in to see how I’m tracking.
I have a fantastic team that I trust and rely on. We work together to achieve our shared goals.
I’m always looking for ways to improve and become more efficient, whether it’s through technology or simply by learning from my experiences.
I’m excited about what the future holds for Eminence Finance Group and for me personally. I believe that by staying focused on my goals, working hard, and never losing sight of my values, I can achieve great things and make a real difference in the lives of my clients and the community.
Looking back at 2024, what was the biggest lesson you learned, and how will it influence your approach in 2025?
Saurabh Arora: 2024 was a fantastic year for Eminence Finance Group. We achieved so much – growing our client base to over 200, earning industry recognition, and partnering with B1G1 to make a real difference in the world. It’s been a whirlwind, and I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished.
But it’s not just about celebrating the wins; it’s also about reflecting on the lessons learned. And for me, the biggest takeaway from 2024 was the importance of staying agile and adaptable. The mortgage industry is constantly changing, with new regulations, technologies, and client expectations popping up all the time. It’s like trying to hit a moving target!
To navigate these changes effectively, I realised how crucial it is to never stop learning. Whether it’s attending industry events, reading up on the latest trends, or simply being open to new ideas, continuous learning is essential for staying ahead of the curve.
I also learned that embracing innovation is key. We need to be willing to try new things, experiment with different approaches, and adopt technologies that can help us improve our services and make our clients’ lives easier.
And of course, feedback is invaluable. Listening to our clients, partners, and team members helps us identify areas where we can improve and ensure we’re always meeting their needs.
In 2025, I’m committed to putting these lessons into action. I plan to invest in more training and development for myself and my team, explore new technologies that can enhance our services, and create even better ways to gather feedback and make sure we’re always getting better.
I believe that by staying agile and embracing change, we can continue to thrive in this exciting and dynamic industry. It’s all about finding that balance between pushing ourselves to achieve great things and being flexible enough to adapt to whatever comes our way.
What trends or innovations do you predict will significantly impact your industry this year?
Saurabh Arora: The mortgage industry in Australia is constantly evolving, and I believe 2025 will be a year of significant change and innovation. The economic outlook is a bit uncertain, with potential interest rate drops but also the possibility of increased unemployment. This will likely influence borrower confidence and lending practices.
We’re also seeing increased competition and innovation in the lending landscape, with new players and products emerging. This will give borrowers more choices and put a greater focus on customer experience and personalised solutions.
Technology will continue to play a crucial role. I think we’ll see more AI-powered tools that can streamline processes and provide advice highly tailored to each individual, as well as advancements in digital platforms and data analytics.
Sustainability is also becoming a key consideration, with a greater emphasis on green lending and responsible investment.
Borrowers are becoming more informed and demanding, expecting a seamless and bespoke experiences. Mortgage brokers who can provide proactive communication, expert advice, and efficient service will be well-positioned to succeed.
Every CEO needs to be prepared to adapt and thrive in this evolving landscape and we’re committed to continuous learning, embracing new technologies, and refining our processes to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our clients and exceed their expectations. Staying ahead of the curve and remaining client-focused will enable us to navigate the challenges and capitalise on the opportunities that 2025 will bring.
How do you approach goal-setting and maintaining focus throughout the year?
Saurabh Arora: Goal-setting and maintaining focus are really important to me, both in my work and personal life. I’ve found a few key things that help me stay on track throughout the year.
First, I always set clear, specific goals and write them down. It’s not enough to have a vague idea of what I want to achieve; I need to be able to measure my progress and see if I’m actually getting closer to my targets. Once I have those goals, I create a plan with actionable steps that I can follow.
Another thing that helps me is prioritisation. I use a checklist to keep track of all my tasks and then prioritise them based on importance and urgency. This ensures that I’m always focusing on the most impactful things and not getting bogged down in less important details.
Regular reviews are also essential. I take time to look back at my goals and see how I’m progressing. This helps me stay on track and make any necessary adjustments to my plans. Sometimes unexpected challenges pop up, so it’s important to be flexible and adapt as needed.
Of course, my clients are always a top priority. I make sure to follow up with them regularly and maintain strong relationships. This not only helps me stay focused on their needs but also provides valuable feedback and motivation.
I also believe in the power of teamwork and open communication. I have regular huddles with my team to discuss challenges, share successes, and ensure everyone is on the same page. This creates a supportive environment and helps us all stay focused on our shared goals.
Finally, I recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. While I’m dedicated to my work, I also make time for my family, hobbies, and personal interests. This helps me recharge and come back to work feeling refreshed and focused.
By combining these strategies, I’m able to stay focused on my goals, navigate challenges effectively, and achieve sustainable success. It’s all about finding that balance between ambition, efficiency, and personal well-being.
What advice would you give to other leaders and entrepreneurs looking to make 2025 their best year yet?
Saurabh Arora: 2025 is just around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be an exciting year full of opportunities and challenges. For any leaders and entrepreneurs out there looking to make it their best year yet, here’s my advice:
Never stop learning and stay curious. The world is changing faster than ever, so invest in your own development to stay ahead of the curve. Embrace change and be open to new ideas, technologies, and processes that can improve your business.
Build a strong team and surround yourself with talented people who share your vision. Empower them to take ownership and contribute their ideas. Nurture your connections with clients, partners, and colleagues. Build trust, communicate openly and honestly, and always go the extra mile.
Put your well-being first. Make time for your physical and mental health, your family, and your passions. Find ways to give back to your community and support causes you believe in.
Never compromise your integrity or your values. Celebrate your wins along the way, big and small, and share your joy with your team and loved ones.
You can make 2025 your most successful and fulfilling year yet, but it’s up to you, you can’t rely on others to make it happen for you. Remember, success is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the ride, and never stop striving to be the best version of yourself.
