You’ve had an impressive journey in both the digital marketing and dance worlds. Can you share with us how your early experiences in dance influenced your approach to social media management and digital marketing.
Laura Pucker: Absolutely! My early experiences in dance taught me the importance of creativity, discipline, and persistence. These qualities are essential in both dance and digital marketing.
Dance requires you to constantly innovate and engage your audience, much like social media. The ability to tell a story, whether through a performance or a marketing campaign, is what captivates and retains an audience.

As the head cheer and dance coach at Keiser University, how do you balance your responsibilities there with your role as a social media professional and the founder of World’s Perfect Athlete?
Laura Pucker: It’s a balancing act, but it’s all about time management and prioritizing. I have an amazing team that supports me in both my coaching and business endeavors.
Delegating tasks and trusting my team allows me to focus on what I do best.
Also, my passion for both fields keeps me motivated and energized, ensuring I give my best to each role.
What inspired you to start World’s Perfect Athlete, and what are your long-term goals for the organization?
Laura Pucker: World’s Perfect Athlete was born out of my desire to provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and be recognized for their hard work and dedication.
My long-term goal is to expand the organization globally, offering more opportunities for athletes in various disciplines to compete, learn, and grow. I want to create a community where athletes can support each other and develop skills that will benefit them both on and off the field.
You’ve been recognized for your ability to explain complex concepts to executives and stakeholders. Can you give an example of how you’ve simplified a complex digital marketing strategy for a client?
Laura Pucker: One example that comes to mind is when I worked with a client on a comprehensive SEO strategy. SEO can be quite technical and overwhelming.
I broke it down into simple, actionable steps and used analogies to make the concepts more relatable. For instance, I compared keyword research to choosing the right ingredients for a recipe – it’s all about finding the right mix to create something great.
By simplifying the process and focusing on clear, measurable goals, we were able to see significant improvements in their search rankings and overall digital presence.
How do you stay ahead of the curve with new and emerging social media platforms and trends?
Laura Pucker: Staying ahead in social media requires continuous learning and adaptation. I make it a point to follow industry leaders, attend webinars, and participate in relevant online communities.
Experimentation is also key. I’m always testing new platforms and strategies to see what works best for my clients.
Additionally, feedback from my audience and clients helps me understand what’s resonating and where I can improve.
Can you share a success story from your time as a dance coach that has had a lasting impact on you?
Laura Pucker: One of the most memorable success stories is of a student who came to me with low self-esteem and little confidence.
Through dance, she discovered her passion and talent, and it transformed her life.
She not only became one of the top performers on the team but also excelled academically and grew into a confident young woman.
Witnessing her journey and knowing that I contributed to her development is immensely rewarding. It continually reinforces my passion and purpose in what I do.

What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a career in digital marketing while also maintaining a passion in a completely different field, like dance?
Laura Pucker: My advice would be to embrace both passions and find ways to integrate them. Skills from one field can often complement and enhance the other.
Time management and setting clear priorities are crucial. It’s also important to build a strong support network and never stop learning.
Pursuing dual passions can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly fulfilling. Stay true to what you love and let that drive you forward.
