We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Jules Dudko: Thank you so much for this opportunity! I’m Jules Dudko, the founder and CEO of FrequenC, a creative agency revolutionizing the next internet. FrequenC works with brands, celebrities, musicians, and athletes to go boldly into the emerging technology world. Our clients are visionaries in their respective fields.
Before founding FrequenC, I was one of the internet’s earliest brand ambassadors. At age 19, I started growing my digital community as a blogger. When the Seattle Seahawks and Saks Fifth Avenue were just exploring their social media partnerships, I was there to help them get started.
The market for influencer partnerships is now worth billions of dollars. In addition to my role at FrequenC, I am the founder of an IT educational platform for Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war, and I am also working on a stealth artificial intelligence venture. My mission is to make a more culture-driven future of tech.
Can you share with us your journey towards integrating AI into your business operations?
Jules Dudko: FrequenC is uniquely positioned with AI, as we have clients in the space and also use the technology in our daily operations.
AI startups have accelerated exponentially over the past year, with AI becoming a more household concept. Many have now heard of ChatGPT or Dall-E and understand the basics.
Simultaneously, the AI market has quickly become saturated, and it’s our job to make sure our clients tell a compelling story to attract users. We want to help startups stand out for the right reasons.
Internally, integrating AI was an obvious choice. It creates a culture of productivity and focus.
We’ve used productivity tools like Calendly and AI notetakers for years. We’ve developed clear usage guidelines that adapt to new resources reaching the mainstream.
What specific areas of your business have been most impacted by AI, and how?
Jules Dudko: The creatives I work with are true visionaries. Many have joined my team from larger agencies or in-house positions where they felt limited by administrative burdens.
Instead of crafting killer copy and designing astonishing visuals, they reviewed budgets and set timelines.
AI helps our team focus on the work they love. It defeats burnout by supporting early-stage content creation–gone are the days of “blank document” paralysis. For more junior employees, AI tools improve copywriting, graphic generation, and proofreading.
It also helps senior employees with new business proposals and time reporting. We see AI as a valuable solution to the struggling current system.
What are the biggest obstacles you’ve faced in implementing AI, and how did you overcome them?
Jules Dudko: In the face of rising AI integration, it’s understandable that many creatives harbor fears about their roles becoming obsolete. This concern is not unfounded – AI will inevitably render certain jobs redundant. However, at FrequenC, we deeply cherish the irreplaceable power of human creativity – its unique ability to resonate emotions and encapsulate cultural nuances.
Our team members aren’t just employees, they’re our most valued assets. We’re committed to equipping them with the knowledge and skills they’ll need to navigate the technological advancements of tomorrow’s workplace.
Instead of viewing AI as a job usurper, we embrace it as an enriching tool for their professional growth. We’re not just living in the present; we’re actively constructing a future where breakthrough technologies like blockchain, metaverses, NFTs, and web3 reshape our cultural landscape.
Through our work, we’re not only envisioning this future – we’re manifesting it. We amplify creativity with a potent combination of data insights, strategic thinking, and our wealth of industry experience.
Yes, we do fuse human ingenuity with artificial intelligence, but let’s not forget that the key to controlling this technological wave lies in our human know-how and relentless effort. After all, who else is going to keep those robots in check if not us?
What advice would you give to other CEOs looking to integrate AI into their business?
Jules Dudko: Start now. AI will penetrate every sector and change employment worldwide. While it seems like AI is everywhere, we’re still in its early stages. Understanding how to communicate with tools like ChatGPT or Midjourney will set you up for future success. Encourage your team to explore tools and resources to make their lives easier.
It is crucial to have frank discussions about the use of AI within your organization. While embracing cutting-edge technology can offer significant advantages, it’s essential to avoid implementing it just for the sake of novelty.
Only some tools will adequately fit your requirements; some might come with hefty costs and limited support. To ascertain the effectiveness of these technologies, turn to trusted networks such as LinkedIn or your industry connections for their personal experiences.
A colleague’s endorsement often carries more weight than any polished marketing spiel. Additionally, it’s crucial to remember the potential security risks associated with sharing data with opaque companies about their data collection and sharing practices.
In a rush to innovate, some startups need help to secure their backend data adequately. It’s always better to err on the side of caution in data security to avoid potentially severe repercussions. Remember, safety comes first.
How do you see AI evolving in your industry over the next 5 years?
Jules Dudko: If we look at traditional hype cycles for emerging technologies, AI has yet to reach its peak hype. I expect the next year to produce a flood of AI applications for almost every task you can imagine.
There will be an AI for everything; many will change their careers or launch new companies to be part of the trend. However, I don’t think all of these applications will be built to last, sort of like during the .com boom.
AI is on a rapidly evolving path. Most “trendy” applications will falter as the initial excitement fades. Successful applications will meaningfully improve operations, whether at a company or personal level.
Don’t overlook regulations, either. Both governments and AI companies recognize the need for smart regulation that encourages innovation while preventing threats to security or unethical applications.
The White House’s “Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights,” the EU’s AI Act, and the new “Frontier Model Forum” from Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI indicate a clear appetite for regulatory guidance. AI-specific legislation will expand to keep up with changing features and ensure a safe future for the industry.
What does “success” in 2023 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Jules Dudko: A mentor once told me, his formula for success was to always be agile and stay one step ahead. Adaptation defines success in 2023. Whether mastering a cutting-edge AI tool or establishing a presence on a new social media platform, pursuing new channels is part of my secret sauce.
It guides how FrequenC operates as an agency and the types of clients we work with. We’re proud to incorporate new offerings into our service list.
The same is true for my personal life.
While working on my non-profit and startup, adaptation and agility keep me sane. I change how I work to reflect my needs as a CEO and human being.
The world is moving rapidly, and I encourage all business leaders to find a rhythm that supports personal and professional growth.
