A remarkable 71% of bakers reported using Temu and other online marketplaces to source supplies, citing affordability as a critical factor in helping them launch or expand their businesses. “Starting a home bakery can feel out of reach for many people because of the costs,” Maria explained. “Platforms like Temu are changing that by offering high-quality, affordable tools and supplies. For a lot of bakers, this is the difference between dreaming about baking and actually doing it.”

The survey found that 86% of these buyers plan to shop for home-baked goods this season, with cookies being the most popular choice for gifts. Managing time and meeting high demand were cited as the biggest challenges by bakers. Platforms like Temu are playing a crucial role here as well. By offering affordable packaging, tools, and other supplies, Temu allows bakers to scale up production while keeping costs low—a lifeline for those juggling small-business budgets and big holiday orders.

“Temu isn’t just about saving money; it’s about giving bakers the chance to grow without compromising on quality or creativity,” Maria said.

The survey revealed that 59% of buyers prioritize eco-friendly packaging, and 71% appreciate personalized designs that make gifts feel even more special.
