"Success is a symphony of slow and deliberate notes, and the melody is always worth the wait."

Holden Bierman Tweet

Welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview with Holden Bierman, a name that has become synonymous with innovation, sustainability, and youthful entrepreneurship in the world of beachwear fashion.

Holden, at just 16 years old, hails from Holly Springs, North Carolina, and is currently a sophomore at Fuquay Varina High School. However, his age belies the remarkable journey he has undertaken as the founder and CEO of Coastal Cool, a beachwear brand that has taken the industry by storm.

Coastal Cool isn’t just any beachwear brand; it’s a testament to Holden’s dedication to environmental responsibility. Holden Bierman began this venture at the tender age of 12, envisioning a brand that marries style, comfort, and performance with sustainability. The result is a line of beachwear crafted from recycled materials, breathing new life into discarded plastic bottles and recyclables.

As we delve into this exclusive interview, we’ll explore Holden’s incredible story, from humble bedroom beginnings to global recognition, and his plans for the future.

We’ll also gain insights into the challenges and lessons learned along the way, making Coastal Cool a symbol of youthful entrepreneurship and the future of eco-conscious fashion.

We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.

Holden Bierman: My name is Holden Bierman, I am 16 years old from Holly Springs, NC. I am a sophomore at Fuquay Varina High School! I was reaching out to introduce myself, and share my entrepreneurial ventures as a full-time high school student.

I started Coastal Cool, the go-to beach vacation brand. Recycled fabrics, breezy materials, and tropical styles made for a worry-free experience. Vibrant, modern, and classic collections made for performance, comfort, and style. Best-selling swimwear & ready-to-wear beachwear collections.

Our fabrics are composed of recycled-polyester and spandex made from recycled plastic bottles, and post-consumer recyclables. Our line of breathable, moveable, and lightweight fabrics have you covered for your vacation and summer essentials.

I started the brand at 12 years old, I am now 16. The brand has grown tremendously over the last 3 years in business. We have a large social platform of over 100 thousand followers and connections worldwide. This company started in my bedroom, and we are now delivering products to customers worldwide to all coastal and vacation lovers.

In the past year, what is the greatest business achievement you’d like to celebrate with your team? Please share the details of that success.

Holden Bierman: This year, we have expanded our online social following to over 100 thousand followers on Instagram alone. We have teamed up with many small, and large influencers to promote the brand.

This year, we have expanded into 3 Florida retail beach stores, around the coast. We also have many trade show and pop up opportunities coming throughout the rest of the year.

What advice do you wish you had received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?

Holden Bierman: When I started the brand, only being 12 years old at the time I wish I understood that it’s a long process to become successful. At the time, I thought the money would be rolling in immediately, well that took time. You can’t rush success, it’s a long process but every step takes time and is worth it.

On the next quarter, my main goal is to rebrand our marketing strategies across social media. Team up with some new influencers, and rising models and share the message of Coastal Cool.

Here is a two-fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?

Holden Bierman: A book that inspired me would be #MAXOUT YOUR LIFE by Ed Mylett – it shares lessons in life from him as an entrepreneur and successful business owner and founder, but it also gives a perspective for young people to embrace every second of life and opportunity given or dreamed of. I have forwarded this book to many people, and continued to share the name of the #MAXOUT culture and Ed Mylett.

Christopher Hitchens, an American journalist, is quoted as saying that “everyone has a book in them” Have you written a book? If so, please share with us details about it. If you haven’t, what book would you like to write and how would you like it to benefit the readers?

Holden Bierman: I have not written a book yet, but I would be interested in doing so. I would love to write a book, targeted to aspiring young teen entrepreneurs as myself guiding and pushing students to become successful down each of their own paths. I would love to show that each has a passion, and everyone should pursue they’re thoughts, visions, and ideas and make it a reality.

In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?

Holden Bierman: The most underestimated part of running a startup or a company, is thinking you can do it all yourself. I thought I could run everything, manage everything, and build everything by myself from the ground up – this is false. It takes time, support, and the help of others in the same mindset and focus to build GREAT things.

What does “success” in 2023 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.

Holden Bierman: Success in 2023 for me, is being able to capitalize my passion. I am able to do what I love, make money, and enjoy working. I love every minute of it. Three years ago when I started the brand, I would never think to be where I am today.

I am able to now inspire others, share my story, and push other like minded entrepreneurs to purse their passions and visions.

Jed Morley, VIP Contributor to ValiantCEO and the host of this interview would like to thank Holden Bierman for taking the time to do this interview and share his knowledge and experience with our readers.
