Company: SKF Practice Solutions
We are thrilled to have you join us today, welcome to ValiantCEO Magazine’s exclusive interview! Let’s start off with a little introduction. Tell our readers a bit about yourself and your company.
Brittany Rogars: I’m Brittany Rogars; speaker, author, and founder of SKF Practice Solutions. We’re a consulting firm helping dental practices streamline systems, reduce burnout, and reclaim their time. But we don’t just “optimize operations,” we rebuild businesses from the inside out.
At SKF, we believe better systems create better lives. That’s why we help practices implement smarter workflows, clean up messy backends, and use Open Dental to its full potential. The result? Teams that are calm, clients who stay, and owners who finally breathe.
My personal journey (loss, failed businesses, rage-quits) taught me how to pivot with purpose. Now, through SKF and my own brand, I teach others how to lead with clarity, scale with strategy, and build businesses that don’t burn them out.
What was the defining moment or challenge that prompted you to pivot your business model, and how did you recognize it was time for a change?
Brittany Rogars: I hit “The Automation Wall” in 2023. I tried to automate one client email and realized nothing in our business was sustainable. I was managing 12 products manually, burning out, and turning away work. It wasn’t a red flag, it was a full stop.
That moment forced me to look at every part of SKF’s backend and ask: what needs to go, what needs to scale, and what needs to heal?
Can you walk us through the most significant change you made to your business model and the immediate impact it had on your company’s trajectory?
Brittany Rogars: We rebuilt our entire tech stack. Moved into a CRM, automated every touchpoint, and documented every single SOP. That gave us consistency, scalability, and a breath of fresh air.
In the first 12 months post-pivot, we doubled revenue, without doubling hours. We now deliver faster, serve better, and protect our team’s peace in the process.
How did you convince your team, investors, or stakeholders to embrace such a dramatic shift, especially if it involved risk or uncertainty?
Brittany Rogars: I anchored every conversation in our values. This wasn’t change for change’s sake, it was survival. And more than that, it was alignment.
When your team knows the “why” and sees how it serves them too, they stop resisting the pivot and start leading it with you.
What was the biggest obstacle you faced during the pivot, and how did you overcome it to ensure the new model’s success?
Brittany Rogars: Letting go of the systems, offers, and people that got us “here” but couldn’t get us “there.” I had to fire someone I loved working with because they weren’t a core value match, and it was tanking morale.
Looking back, what’s one key lesson from your pivot experience that you’d share with other CEOs considering a major business model shift?
Brittany Rogars: Every wall is an invitation. You can keep crashing into it, or you can pivot with purpose.
If it’s no longer working, that’s your sign. Don’t wait for the burnout, the breakdown, or the bank account to force the shift. Choose it now, and build a business that actually supports the life you want.
