2020 and 2021 threw a lot of curve balls into business on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past couple years, how can businesses thrive in 2022? What lessons have you learned?
Alexandra Badea: 2020 was the hardest year that I’ve had in business. I took a lot of decisions in order to save my business and to create a new one.
I have learned a lot of lessons: to keep working on your projects even if nobody wants to buy them for a while, to appreciate your good clients and give up on toxic ones, to choose to be positive and optimistic even if the predictions are black or grey and continue to keep your balance even if is huge earth shake.
The pandemic seems to keep on disrupting the economy, what should businesses focus on in 2022? What advice would you share?
Alexandra Badea: I focus to keep my clients happy.
My advice is to always choose to follow your dream and to work hard for this.
How has the pandemic changed your industry and how have you adapted?
Alexandra Badea: I keep my focus on meeting weekly new people.
I made a lot of free webinars and mentoring sessions.
What advice do you wish you received when the pandemic started and what do you intend on improving in 2022?
Alexandra Badea: To give at the office and unless investment with 2 years early then pandemic.
I want to improve my sales process, build a team for corporate sales, to find a way to grow faster She is Mom. When you are a woman founder in tech in East Europe you don’t get investment easy, more than this at the beginning no one takes your project seriously.
My plan is to grow the community in Europe and then in the USA.
Online business surged higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for 2022?
Alexandra Badea: We are an educational platform and my expectation is positive.
We are looking for ambassadors, our products are great, we have a lot of moms and women worldwide, we need the right advertising and more successful stories. We are looking for companies who want to join us and support our mission.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of a screen?
Alexandra Badea: 9-12.
The majority of executives use stories to persuade and communicate in the workplace. Can you share with our readers examples of how you implement that in your business to communicate effectively with your team?
Alexandra Badea: I love to use wishlist and business lunches for relaxing communication in our team.
Wishlist we made at the beginning of the year and lunches at 2 weeks.
Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as the real challenge right now?
Alexandra Badea: Growing faster without investment and limited resources.
In 2022, what are you most interested in learning about? Crypto, NFTs, online marketing, or any other skill sets? Please share your motivations.
Alexandra Badea: I am open to learning how can I grow a company and then make an exit. I start my career in human resources, when I decided to become my own boss I should learn everything from scratch. 3 years ago when I start to create She is Mom I already had 2 years trying to understand tech business, marketplaces, and investment steps.
I believe in the power of education and my plan is to learn all my life new things,
A record 4.4 million Americans left their jobs in September in 2021, accelerating a trend that has become known as the Great Resignation. 47% of people plan to leave their job during 2022. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. Do you think leaders see the data and think “that’s not me – I’m not that boss they don’t want to work for? What changes do you think need to happen?
Alexandra Badea: The companies need to become more human! They need to change the old rules and habits and create a flexible work environment. We support companies in She is Mom with mentoring, coaching, retention program, and also diversity and inclusion.
Your employees want to be reintegrated, after maternity leave, into the company for long life employment. We are offering programs for them and the company, to do this transition as smoothly as possible.
On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?
Alexandra Badea: To have a magic power to put dreams into reality, for my team and for all entrepreneurs that I met.
What does “success” in 2022 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision.
Alexandra Badea: To build a strong community in She is mom, to get 1.000.000 investment and then to arrive in more houses and companies, to build a sales team, to have more happy moms 🙂
