"Never forget to praise and motivate each team member as often, the best reward is a simple recognition of a job well done."

Meet Alex Wan. He was still in his 30s when he decided to co-found a company named VinPit. Their services let potential buyers run a VIN check before the purchase of a used car. This decision changed his career entirely as he oversaw the transition from being an employee to managing several employees. So when he started hiring for his firm, Alex was on cloud nine. However, he soon realized that it was a task of significant obligation as he now feels responsible towards the people he hires. This has changed his outlook towards the employer-employee relationship.

Thank you so much for giving us your time! Before we begin, could you introduce yourself to our readers and take us through what exactly your company does and what your vision is for its future?
Alex Wan: My business lets potential buyers run a VIN check before the purchase of a used car. That is why I named it VinPit because it gives an idea of the work we do to the person hearing the name. VinPit is an enterprise dedicated to helping you avoid all potential problems that might arise in the future when buying a used car. We exist solely to provide you with a detailed history of your vehicle entirely free of cost. You can check your used car’s vehicle history against our extensive database of 268+ million registered vehicles in the United States for a comprehensive understanding of your potential purchase.
Many readers may wonder how to become an entrepreneur but what is an entrepreneur? How would you define it?
Alex Wan: I feel that the most important quality that an entrepreneur should possess to be successful is creativity. I have found that the businesses that have thrived are generally based on the creative ideas of their creators. During these days of cut-throat competition, a business idea that does not emanate creative ways to promote itself can not expect to progress. Moreover, the creation of a product or service also demands a high level of creativity. Thus, creativity means presenting unique ideas so that your business can stand out among the crowd.
Share with us one of the most difficult decisions you had to make for your company that benefited your employees or customers. What made this decision so difficult and what were the positive impacts?
Alex Wan: A team brings together people with diverse personalities and skill sets. Setting goals as a group can help a workplace community come together and solve difficulties together as goals provide everyone with something to strive towards.
Setting goals as a group is a collaborative and communicative process which builds a positive working environment. It encourages your team to invest in the organization’s objectives. You must balance utilizing individual skill sets and determining the best path to achieve your final goal.
The goal setting process does not end with the goal. Create an action plan for your team to help them with their responsibilities. Never forget to praise and motivate each team member as often, the best reward is a simple recognition of a job well done.
Thank you so much for your time but before we finish things off, we do have one more question. If you wrote a book about your life until today, what would the title be?
