PDF is one of the most popular file formats in use today. PDF documents are easy to create, and they’re easy to share. In addition, PDF files can be read on a variety of devices, such as computers, tablets, smartphones and other handhelds. However, not all PDFs contain text or images that you want to extract from them. Fortunately, there are several ways for extracting PDF pages from a pdf document using free software tools:
Launch Adobe Acrobat
You first need to download and install Adobe Acrobat if you don’t already have it on your computer. Once it’s installed, open it up so that you can read PDFs in the program rather than by using another web browser like Chrome or Firefox. Then, open up a PDF file that has printing instructions for the pages inside (you can find these instructions either near each page number or at the end of all printed pages).
Open The PDF
As someone who works in eLearning, you know that an LMS is only as good as its ability to track and report data. And while most LMSs these days have some engagement metric tracking capability, they don’t all do it well. If you’re looking for an LMS that does engagement metrics right, then look for time spent on the platform.
After all, if your learners aren’t spending much time on the platform, they’re not engaged. Look for an LMS that can give you detailed reports on how much time learners spend on the platform overall and how much time they spend on specific courses or modules.
Choose the "Extract Pages As Separate Files" Option
To extract pages from a PDF file, click “Extract Pages as Separate Files” and then click “Options.”
The options window allows you to select the pages that you want to extract. You can also rename your files, create subdirectories for each page, and view page previews. This option is handy if you have documents with multiple versions of the same page (e.g., different revisions), because it allows you to save each version in its own directory with a different name—for example, “Revision 1” or “Final Version.”
Adobe Acrobat says, “You can upload a PDF with up to 500 pages and then extract any number of its pages.”
Select Pages to Extract and Enter File Name
You can select the pages you want to extract by choosing them from the thumbnail images on the right or by selecting a range of pages using their page numbers and hitting “Add.” You can also reveal all hidden pages by clicking on the green “+” icon next to “Unselected Pages.”
Once you’ve selected your desired pages, enter a name for your file in both text boxes and click “Extract.”
Click the "Extract" Button
Once you have selected all of the pages, click on the “Extract” button. The PDF will then be split into individual pages and placed in a box called “Files To Save.” Now, you can either save those files to your computer or upload them directly to Google Drive or Dropbox.
Extracting pages from a PDF can be extremely useful. However, it is not always an easy task. Luckily, some tools can help you extract pages from a PDF document in no time at all! The steps outlined above cover the most common way of doing this but keep in mind that they might not always work with every file type.
