What inspired you to found Peaceful Profits, and what personal or professional experiences led you to this path?
Michael Shreeve: I started Peaceful Profits because I was tired of the stress and noise that came with most online business advice. Early in my career, I was broke, teaching myself copywriting in a public library, and I eventually helped clients generate millions of dollars. But I realized that I didn’t want to build a business that just made money. I wanted one that gave me peace. That’s what inspired me to create a company focused on doing one thing well…we help experts write, launch, and sell the right book for their business.
Can you share a pivotal moment or breakthrough in Peaceful Profits’ journey that truly shaped the company’s direction?
Michael Shreeve: There was a moment when we realized the profound impact a book can have on someone’s business and brand. Not just as something to stroke their ego, but as a valuable tool to attract the right kinds of people, open valuable doors, and build legacies. Once Peaceful Profits decided to focus solely on helping experts write, launch, and sell their books, things started to fall into place. It gave us a clear purpose and allowed us to go all in on doing one thing really, really well.
How would you describe the core values that drive Peaceful Profits, and how do these values influence the way you serve your clients?
Michael Shreeve: Our values are simplicity, honesty, freedom, and long-term thinking. We don’t believe in gimmicks or hype. We help our clients build solid businesses that work behind the scenes so they can spend more time doing what they love. These values show up in the way we build systems, support our team, and coach our clients. Everything we do is meant to reduce stress, not add to it.
What is the overarching mission of Peaceful Profits, and how do you see it making a difference in the lives of your clients?
Michael Shreeve: Our mission is to help people build businesses that are both profitable and peaceful. Most of our clients are authors, coaches, and service providers who want to grow without burning out. We give them tools that help them attract clients in a calm, consistent way. For many of them, it’s the first time they feel like their business is working for them instead of the other way around.
Can you recall a significant obstacle Peaceful Profits has faced along the way, and how your team worked to overcome it?
Michael Shreeve: In 2024, we hit a rough patch. We’d grown too fast, made a few hiring mistakes, and started to feel the cracks. But instead of falling apart, the team pulled together. Our Core Team pulled together and showed up for the company and for our clients. We reset and got back to basics. That experience reminded us why culture and values matter more than any quick win. I’m so proud of what we have become, the team we have built, and the trajectory we are on.
Looking back, what are some of the standout accomplishments or client success stories that you believe define Peaceful Profits’ impact?
Michael Shreeve: There are so many. One that stands out is a client named Kris, who rewrote her messaging based on our advice and started closing nearly every discovery call she had, at a much higher price point. Others have launched books that not only changed their business but also changed their lives. That’s the impact we care about—real people getting real results they can build on. No matter how many clients we have, every time one of our authors lands a big client, or gets big press, or makes a best-seller list, our whole team celebrates. Because it is always a team effort.
How does Peaceful Profits support the well-being, growth, and professional development of the people on your team?
Michael Shreeve: We believe in giving people the space to lead. Our department heads run their teams and are trusted to make decisions. We encourage learning, trying new things, and building systems that make life easier. We also focus on keeping things calm. Peaceful isn’t just in our name; it’s also how we strive to run our business.
In what ways does Peaceful Profits foster diversity, inclusion, and a broader sense of social responsibility within your work and partnerships?
Michael Shreeve: We hire based on character and skill, not background or geography. Our team is fully remote and spread across different countries and cultures. We also work with clients from all walks of life. We know that different perspectives make us stronger, and we do our best to listen, learn, and make space for everyone.
Are there specific charitable causes or community-focused initiatives that Peaceful Profits is actively involved in or champions?
Michael Shreeve: While we don’t have an official charity initiative right now, we’ve supported causes related to mental health, education, and entrepreneurship in the past. We’re looking at ways to make this a more regular part of what we do, especially as the business continues to grow.
How do you define and measure success at Peaceful Profits? Beyond financial milestones, what other outcomes matter most to you and your team?
Michael Shreeve: We measure success by how well we’re helping our clients reach their goals. Are they selling books? Are they attracting the right clients? Are they feeling more at peace in their business? Internally, we look at how strong our team is, how smooth our systems are, and whether people feel proud of the work we’re doing. Revenue matters, but how we earn it matters more.
This collection of insights from Shreeve offers a window into how Peaceful Profits integrates its mission and values into every facet of its operations.
