Meet the one who’s changing the face of electric vehicles

August 8, 2025

After a successful career in the tech and fintech industry, one man made a career switch to reframe what it means to live in the world of automobiles.

That person is named Justin Lunny—better known as a car lover and business leader. But even beyond those titles, he might be best described as the one who changed the electric car game after inventing the beloved Everrati, a UK-based car company turning classic cars into luxurious electric vehicles.

It all started with a rooted dedication for cars, where these machines have always been a backbone of inspiration for Lunny. As a child, he remembers pivotal moments when automobiles were always the topic of interest.

“I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t passionate about cars. It’s always been there; part of my DNA, really. Growing up, I was fascinated by the beauty, the sound, the engineering,” Lunny said, CEO and Founder of Everrati. “My uncle was a major influence; he was the person I’d talk to about cars endlessly, and we’d go out driving together whenever we could. He owned a Mercedes-Benz SL which undoubtedly influenced my early fascination with Pagodas from an early age. Even as my professional path led me into technology and fintech, cars remained a constant.”

Founded in 2019, Lunny built Everrati around three core pillars: performance, refinement, and sustainability. In other words, he envisioned a company where history can be preserved by respecting an old car’s heritage, and transforming it into a modernised vehicle with a bespoke electric powertrain. At the same time, as these classics turn electric, they have the capacity to enhance driving performance as well as sustainable needs.

Furthermore, Lunny’s concept starts with a complete 3D scan of the chassis, generating 5.2bn data points in order to integrate an electric engine without compromising the car’s original architecture. Each EV takes roughly 6,000 engineering hours, supported by 1,500 engineering drawings, and more than 1,500 individual components. That level of detail means Lunny is focused on precision to keep these cars lasting for decades.

That foundation came to fruition after an epiphany that keeping up with today’s modern technology was desperately needed.

“It was clear to me that electrification was coming, and that there was a growing tension between our love for classic vehicles and the environmental realities of modern life. I saw an opportunity to merge my experience in technology with my passion for cars to solve that problem thoughtfully,” Lunny explained. “That’s where Everrati began. It wasn’t about creating just another EV brand—it was about preserving the icons we love in a way that respects both their history and the world they now live in.”

Wise beyond his years, Lunny quickly knew that taking Everrati to the United States was another important step to advancing the car industry. Originally made for the European market, now the ultra-wealthy can find Lunny’s work in their own backyard.

Retailing at a mere $500,000, what makes these cars particularly unique is their focus on the environment to reduce ongoing problems that traditional cars produce, such as air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. For Lunny, he aims to reverse this concern by adding a battery-powered motor—one that’s designed to lower overall environmental impact.

Most importantly, entering the US market also means offering a rare novelty that is different from the typical Tesla many own today. In essence, it is about paying homage to old-time collector pieces that unite story, modern mechanics, and evolution together.

Even in his earlier years, Lunny represents the common ideology that a dream can become real with an inventive mindset. In his hands, the automotive world is looking bright with ideas way beyond the current EV business today.

For those who can afford it, you might consider a classic car-turned electric as your upcoming purchase. Because as the car industry accelerates forward, it might be the next biggest thing thanks to the expert, Justin Lunny.
