His primary mission is to partner with employers, assisting them in eliminating chronic entry-level labor shortages that hamper productivity and growth. Simultaneously, John is committed to creating meaningful employment opportunities for qualified foreign national workers, thereby contributing to the broader economic and social fabric of the country.

If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffett, how would you describe your company, your services or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?

John Dorer: I run EB3.Work, a company that solves labor shortages for U.S. employers by connecting them with foreign workers through the EB-3 visa program. We specialize in recruiting entry-level workers from around the world and guiding employers through the immigration process. What sets us apart is our unique ability to manage both recruitment and immigration under one roof, ensuring a seamless experience for employers.

Our biggest strength is our expertise in navigating the complexities of U.S. immigration law while consistently delivering a motivated and reliable workforce for industries struggling to fill jobs.

Quiet quitting, The Great Resignation, is an ongoing trend causing many businesses to struggle to keep talent engaged and motivated. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued, and misunderstood in the workplace. In your experience, what keeps employees happy? And how are you adapting to the current shift we see?

John Dorer: In my experience, employees are happiest when they feel respected, listened to, and have opportunities for growth. Clear communication and recognition go a long way in making people feel valued. We’ve seen success by creating open feedback channels and investing in training and development, ensuring employees know they have a future with the company. At EB3.Work, we focus on helping companies bring in highly motivated foreign workers through the EB-3 visa program. These workers come with a sense of loyalty and gratitude because they’ve been given an opportunity for permanent residence in the U.S. This deepens engagement and helps retain talent even in the face of broader workplace challenges.

Online business keeps on surging higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for the year to come and how are you capitalizing on the tidal wave?

John Dorer: The shift to online everything is here to stay. At EB3.Work, we’ve embraced this wave by streamlining our recruitment process entirely online—interviews, screenings, and even job offers are all conducted virtually. This has allowed us to expand our reach globally, finding top talent no matter where they are in the world. For the coming year, we expect even more companies to adopt hybrid or remote work setups, and we’re positioning ourselves as a partner who can help them navigate this new landscape. By focusing on tech-driven recruitment and using data to match employers with candidates quickly, we’re staying ahead of the curve.

Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?

John Dorer: The real challenge right now is the ongoing labor shortage, especially in entry-level positions. Many U.S. employers are struggling to find reliable workers, and this issue is affecting productivity and growth across multiple industries. At EB3.Work, we’re tackling this head-on by helping businesses tap into the global talent pool through the EB-3 visa program. We’re creating a bridge between employers and foreign nationals who are eager to work, which helps companies not only fill critical roles but also plan for long-term growth.

In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?

John Dorer: I believe the most underestimated part of running a company is the complexity of managing talent. It’s not just about hiring the right people, but also nurturing them, keeping them engaged, and making sure they align with the company’s vision. For example, when we started EB3.Work, we quickly realized that recruiting foreign workers wasn’t enough—we needed to create a support system to ensure their transition to the U.S. was smooth and that they remained committed to their new roles. This insight led us to develop a more holistic recruitment and immigration process, which has been key to our success.

On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be and how would you put it into practice?

John Dorer: If I could choose a business superpower, it would be the ability to instantly understand and predict market trends. Having that foresight would allow me to anticipate challenges before they arise and adapt our strategy at EB3.work to stay ahead of the competition. I’d use it to continuously refine our recruitment process, ensuring we always match employers with the right talent as efficiently as possible, no matter how the market shifts.

What does “success” in 2024 mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level, please share your vision

John Dorer: Success in 2024, for me, means continuing to grow EB3.Work while making a tangible impact on the U.S. labor market. We aim to help more businesses solve their staffing shortages and provide foreign workers with life-changing opportunities.

On a personal level, success is about creating a balance—building a thriving business while ensuring I have time to enjoy life with my family and work on my tennis game. It badly needs it!
